"Don't burn me, please," came Cephiro's voice from the other side of the dim room, where he was kneeling on the bed. He had been meditating, but now he was doing his best impression of a cute and innocent little boy - one that he did exceedingly well.

"Of course not. Burned skin stinks," she said, faking exasperation and continuing the act by tossing something in his direction. The used memory crystal, in fact. She waited, rolling her eyes, for the song to end, before she sat down on her own bed.

Cephiro caught it with a little squeak of surprise.

"Oh! I was about to ask..."

... What that song was for. Apparently it was a punishment.

"Um, congratulations," he said, smiling his usual somewhat nervous smile. He wasn't quite sure what else to say or ask.

"Yeah, and the wig too," she said, pulling at it a little, ineffectually. She leaned back on the bed.

"You were in my memory," she said. She laughed a little, although not entirely casually. "It's strange to see you like you were. You're... you're really different now."

She leaned up on her elbow to clarify, though, smiling softly. "Not in a bad way, in case you you were thinking that."

"At least it's just a wig." Cephiro was trying to be reassuring.

At her mention of how different he was, he found himself looking down and away, playing with the crystal a little in his hands. It wasn't really a surprise, but hearing someone else say it was different. He wasn't sure how to feel about it - but Flame's reassurance came almost before he could start to worry that it was a bad thing.

He returned her smile, and wanted to ask how he was different - but he didn't want to seem that conceited. Maybe he could figure it out some other way, on his own or by asking other questions.

"So we did know each other," he said instead. "What was it about?"
