Simon was armed with a large mug of coffee and had his music player in his vest pocket to put in his ears if he needed something to jolt him awake. Being an early-to-bed, early-to-rise type, night shifts tended to be hard on him, especially so when they were just getting over a spate of Sphere-induced panic.

He wished dearly that he was at home in bed with his sister curled against him, for purely selfish reasons- not only because he was tired, but being there with her was reassurance that she was still present, that he was still orbiting something.

He had actually begun to doze off, however, in spite of himself... hearing a pleasant sound like a sheep bleat... when Stellaris' question roused him. Simon blinked and rubbed his eyes.

"I thought I had perhaps been dreaming, but if you heard it too..." He rubbed his chin. "Let's hope that none of our patients has taken to making animal noises."

Truthfully, Kagerou did not mind the night shifts. Her daily rhythm skewed towards evening anyway due to the bar's opening hours, so it was almost less of a hassle for her to stay in late than to come in early. And right now, with Marbles still on her way back to the Hall of Beginnings (Kagerou refused to even contemplate the other option) the bar felt a little hollow and lifeless. The sleepy quiet of Wellspring at night was welcome in comparison.

She had been sitting in the waiting area with a half-finished scarf and a tangle of yarns, trusting the variation of knitting stripes of alternating colours into the scarf to keep her awake. At the sound of Simon and Stellaris talking behind the desk, she raised her head--and then another sound intruded.

"Um, not to make this any weirder," she began, "but I think that sounds a lot like hooves. That clip-clopping. Or... is that just me?"

Like Simon, Paladin was used to working in the early morning, and while he could tolerate the late nights and lack of sleep...it didn't mean he particularly enjoyed it.

He was already up, fetching more coffee before returning to whatever odds and ends he could find to make himself useful--and so, when he heard the bleat coming from near the entrance, he turned towards it with a raised eyebrow.

Another bleat. And--"Those are definitely hooves."

Because further speculation would get them nowhere and because he was already up, he went to the door and opened it with some caution--this was Edensphere, a man-killing sheep would not be the weirdest thing this week--but then a little wider, to get a better look, when it became clear it was no threat.

"...It's sheep." His tone suggested that there was more he wasn't saying, possibly due to the strangeness factor.

"I actually would not be too surprised if it was a patient," Stellaris said to Simon, smiling wryly. It was Edensphere. Stranger things had happened.

The arrival of Kagerou and Paladin set her more at alert, because apparently they had heard it too. What she wasn't ready for, though, was when immediately after Paladin's confirmation that they were sheep, two by two they barged inside. They were indeed sheep, but no ordinary ones-their fleece were multicoloured like rainbow. Going 'baa, baa' all the way, each one of them approached each Medic. Stellaris anxiously rose from her seat, eyes opened wide. She was not particularly good with animals (except Shizuko, but it was very low-maintenance).

"W-where did they come from? Uuh, what do we do?" Could this be an outbreak, like those 'chocobo' birds a while back? Of course, rainbow sheep wasn't natural, but she had heard of the strawberry cow, so who is to say the Farm didn't keep such an animal?

However harmless and fluffy the sheep looked, they could hardly be allowed further into the clinic. Abandoning her knitting (even if a sheep might mistake it for a snack) Kagerou hopped onto her feet and ran to tightly close the door that led into the interior of the building from the waiting area.

"Best not let them get any further, in any case!" She had hardly heard the lock click shut when she was already surrounded by a cluster of five sheep bleating mysterious ovine demands at her. "They look awfully like they want something, don't you think?"
