He wasn't quite sure what was going on. The last - well, only - thing he remembered was a very confusing series of events that culminated in him initiating a self-reset. Though the process shouldn't have taken more than a second or so, when he booted up he found himself in a very different place from where he was when he shut down. His optical sensors picked up almost nothing, on any wavelength - though from the muted infared tones he could tell that he was encased in some sort of thin shell and surrounded by dense, oxidized fluid. According to his gyroscopic sensors, he was lying on his back ( ... )

Rick heard a cocoon stir and almost automatically grabbed up a newborn packet and swept over to greet the new arrival, eyes closed and holding the towel forth. Tribble rolled after him.

"Welcome to Edensphere, oh new arrival, I'm Rick and-"

However, his words were cut short when there was a loud CLANG and... a ROBOT, of all things, rolled out. A robot. A ROBOT.

Rick's jaw dropped, and he merely stared, blinking hard. Tribble seemed equally astounded.

"Aroo?"

What are you looking at? the droid remarked - in Droidspeak, of course - trying to roll away from the cocoon on his rollerpeds. Unfortunately, the treads on the bottom couldn't get a very good grip in the slime, so he ended up sort of sliding slowly. Still, it was enough. He made his way to relatively dry ground and then straightened himself on his two main legs before doing a curious impression of a small, furry mammal shaking itself dry: wiggling from side to side while shaking his head vigorously. He took the proffered towel in one extendable arm with a muttered thanks, but then seemed to remember something.

Excuse me-- he blurted, turning his head almost delicately away from the onlookers to expel copious amounts of cocoon goo from his pneumatic ejection tube near the top of his dome. That's better.

Finally, he again regarded the human - Rick, he said his name was. He looked confused. Shocked, maybe. Definitely not his new owner.

Um... hi?

Rick was still slack-jawed as he watched the robot clean itself off- something he had certainly not expected, even less than having a robot, of all things, pop out of a cocoon. A dragon had been strange enough. It didn't help matters that, for some reason, he felt vague pangs of recognition from it. Not as strongly as he had the first time he'd seen Promise and Nikki, but the feeling was there.

"...Can you speak anything other than beeps?" he asked, suddenly finding his voice, when it had taken the towel and expelled a whole bunch of cocoon goo. "I can't understand you. ... Can you understand me? Wave that arm if so, please."
