Crimson had thankfully returned to his original body so far this week and had been sleeping peacefully (or as peacefully as one could sleep here) when the sudden appearance of a familiar reiatsu right next to him caused him to blink his eyes open.

And stare. Stupidly.

What was Lin doing in his bed? And how had she gotten in without his noticing earlier? And why was she sleeping instead of trying to kill-- Oh. It must be another event of the Tree's.

So he took the chance to study her quietly, careful not to move or make any sounds to wake her up. Grey eyes trailed over her face, and he couldn't stop the soft smile that curved at his lips as he took her in. She was quite adorable like this too, but oh dear, time to feign sleep before she woke up and caught him staring.

There was a weird smell. Yes, definitely. This didn't smell like her own bed, or Bastet's. And yet it was vaguely familiar, what was it? That's when Lin realized-- oh, obviously. She must have been having a dream with Crimson in it again. That's why she felt his reiatsu so close, and his smell. She was actually having one more nightmare about him and Bastet getting married. Or eloping together. Or putting flowers in each other's hair. The kind of thing people who are in love do, even if Lin maybe had a slightly idealistic and unrealistic idea of those.

She could picture the two of them doing a number of things that made her always sad and angry whenever she dreamed them. That particular morning, they were walking on white, soft sand, the waves from the sea (lake?) caressing their feet as they strolled hand in hand, now and then leaning close to each other to whisper things in the other's ear.

Lin's hand clenched around the sheets, one very clear message appearing over her head. I hate CrimsonWhen she turned around it was sudden, she ( ... )

The words above her head were the warning Crimson got before her hand came flying at him, causing Crimson to let out a quiet yelp as it connected with his chest. It was due more to surprise than pain, but nonetheless...

"Oww, that-- Lin-san?!"

"Shut up, Crimson..." Lin muttered in her sleep before realizing there was definitely something wrong. That voice-- it didn't sound like it came from her dream. The Crimson in her dream hadn't spoken at all. But then...

Her eyes open wide, Lin immediately sat up, planting a foot and both palms in the mattress and swinging a kick at him. Good morning, Crimson.

"What are you doing here?!"
