Rauxes herself could almost blend into her surroundings thanks to the new outfit she'd been stuck in by the Edens' will. It was definitely practical enough, Rauxes supposed, for a combat-heavy sort. There were armor plates mixed in with thinner chainmail, and that was all well and good, but the cape seemed unnecessary and the pauldrons cumbersome now that she was trying to move around more. For all that she'd enjoyed testing her mettle against creatures and zombies, something about this attire bothered her greatly, though she couldn't place why.
She made sure to leave no more than 5 feet between her and Fayth at all times, and one hand on the hilt of her new sword. "This ( ... )

Her fingers curved around the straps of her pack. She'd had to adjust it a little to accommodate for the new sleeves and belts that now adorned her body. All of her medical items were in there, the very same she carried with her during a scavenge in the junkyard as well as a few other necessities she had bought yesterday. But would it be enough ( ... )

He sighed and pulled from his bag the sheaf of paper with maps of the previous two Wildernesses. Well, they'd be of no use now - best to start on a fresh sheet.
"... As expected."

But she'd known the job could be dangerous when she'd taken it. And on a purely objective basis, this Wilderness didn't look as bad. No bullets or roaring.
All the same, there was a decidedly ominous feel to it. A fog was drifting in, and with it... Min raised her head and inhaled. Damp woodfires, rust. Decay.
Checking the position of her folded war fan, her hand brushed her belt pouch, where she'd put the feathered band that she'd found rolled up in a bottle yesterday. For some reason she'd forgotten to take it out before coming here.
Well, too late now. She wasn't leaving her shift early for anything as trivial as this.

He gasped and looked up and behind him, his grip instinctively tightening on his staff. There was simply no way he could have moved in time.
... If there had actually been something there. Which there did not appear to be. After a moment of staring off into the distance at nothing, he stood again. Despite the awkwardness, something in him refused to write it off, to smile and shake his head at himself as he normally would.

She stared hard at the nothing which had startled Cephiro, then swept the mist around them, but there was only more nothing. ...Nothing was everywhere. She set her jaw, face blankly impassive.
The silence was oppressive, almost a sound in and of itself. But there was something in it that came and went, the distance and location not entirely clear.
"Is that- " She hesitated. Min's voice was a little lower and more melodic than usual, but she was more or less used to that by now. She wasn't so much older than usual that it impaired her. "Sobbing?"

No answer. Rauxes had gone silent. Not even a scream or a cry.
Fayth felt her heart skipped a beat. The hysterics had been one thing. The silence was something completely different. With a hesitant hand, she placed two fingers on her neck. Immediately, she let out a breath she hadn't know she was holding. She must have passed out... "Oh, Rauxes..."
Fayth pressed her lips together. She'd have to keep her wits about her; those things were still about. It was on her now to get them out of this place. Still... Rauxes' condition had her worried. What was it her medical training said to do? Preliminary medical attention; making sure the patient was alright and secure. Right, focus on Rauxes first. Everything else was secondary. And if it came down to it, she'd protect her with everything ( ... )

Mostly because she had a duty - she had to protect Cephiro. She padded along in wet boots, her hand never leaving the hilt of her longsword, eyes everywhere, ears everywhere, feathered band over her brow, ignoring the prickling of her wet clothes. If it meant anything, Cephiro would notice and tell her.
Another voice. She pulled her sword, not all the way clear, but close enough that it could come free in an instant. "Who are you?" she called strongly, an edge in her voice.

At least outside there wouldn't be anything dropping down from the ceiling.
She blinked away afterimages from the fire and drew her sword, using the blade to bat away falling burnt web strands. "Hello?" she called quietly.
