Krile carried a small stack of cloth-wrapped plates to the nearest table before going to the coat room, tugging off her mittens and earmuffs and trying to smooth the static out of her ponytail with limited success. She looked around at the largely-empty bar--giving a wave and a friendly hello to Fred the bartender--before starting to set up the plates more nicely as she waited for more helpers to arrive.

Mindelan came early, carrying a package wrapped in waxed paper. She shuffled it from one arm to the other while taking off and hanging her coat, glancing around the room. Not many people yet, and fewer she recognized.

She carried the package to the table and gave Krile a nod. "Krile, hello. Is there an empty platter about?"

"Hey, Mindelan!" Krile said with a grin. "Ah... hang on a second." She lifted one of the plates and tugged out one of the spares she'd brought, holding it out to the woman. "There we go! You can put whatever's in there on that."

Though she knew Mindelan had been to Rick and Genius' birthday from the irritation over spiked drinks the next day, Krile couldn't quite see her as a party person. (She didn't know that Mindelan had attended Kagerou's party as a horse.) She wondered how she'd get on this time. "You can just put it anywhere on the table--it doesn't matter yet."

Food Tables

[Food's on the tables on the first floor--there's a decent variety of snacks and desserts. Some helpful NPCs have brought things along too so things are about even.]

Sky's contribution had been simple- a platter of vegetables- as he felt there could never be enough healthy options at a party like this.

Party.

He hoped he wasn't moving too fast, but he was taking Stoneface's advice to not hide and get out there and let his friends help him move past his loss to heart. Besides, he could always leave if he didn't feel up to it, he reminded himself.

Getting a glass of water, he seated himself near the food tables, watching everyone around him, absorbing the noise and bustle, as much as it made him feel like he wanted to run away. It wasn't the quietness of the spa, it was an entirely different ambiance, but a bit of a change couldn't hurt.

As Krile picked up a couple of carrot sticks from that vegetable platter, she spotted the person who'd brought it sitting not too far away. She smiled... she'd been half-expecting him not to come, or if he did to just drop off food and leave. And she wouldn't have blamed him for doing either thing, but she was glad to see that he'd stayed.

She pulled up a chair next to him and took a seat. "Hey there. How's it going?" she asked before taking a bite out of a carrot.

Sky gave Krile a smile- it was small, barely there, but genuine. He was finding it easier to smile the longer it went on...

"Recovering," he replied quietly, both hands on his water glass, looking into it. "Trying to do something aside from staying at home and wallowing." His throat began to tighten, but with an effort he kept his tone normal.

[Juuuust what it sounds like. IDK THIS IS PROBABLY IN THE EVENING. At the least, it's very unlikely to be morning since the party's pretty early in the afternoon.]

None of the food looked familiar, half the people he only sort of knew, and Cephiro had never been to a party before that he remembered. So, obviously that meant it was time to try everything ever, a little bit at a time. He bounced around between the food tables and various crowds of people - not really talking much but listening to everyone - in between bouts of stillness where he stood near the wall and watched people mingle around. He was neither shy nor outgoing, unlikely to start a conversation but ready with an encouraging smile should someone look his way.

There were a lot of people at the party, most of whom he hadn't met- but Eagle had figured it would be a good opportunity to meet people. It wouldn't be good to leave anyone out, at least, so he approached Cephiro, offering a smile. "Enjoying yourself?"

Cephiro would certainly admire Eagle's thoroughness, had he known. Talking to every single person at a party wasn't even something he was up for, and it wasn't for lack of desire to be sociable or for shyness. So, it was a pleasant surprise when someone he didn't even know came up and asked how he was doing.

He smiled and nodded. "Yourself? I don't think we've met before. Are you new?"

"It's been good so far!" Eagle nodded. "I'm Eagle. I arrived some weeks ago, so I'm reasonably new. What about you?"
