Bastet snorted, looking down reflexively at herself before responding. "Thanks. I've had worse, but I'd still rather have my own clothes when it's snowing like this." Luckily, she was still able to wear a heavy coat over the dress, which made the trip to and from home bearable.

She shifted, tucking her feet more comfortably beneath her. "I see you escaped this time." Most people weren't coming in for clothes since their wardrobes had been changed; it wasn't as though they could buy new clothes to escape the effects.

She finally looked down at the sweater he'd picked, blinking. That thing was hideous. One of her temporary employees must have picked it up, because she never would have grabbed that on her own.

He shrugged. "Yeah, but I have a feeling I wouldn't have minded this one too much. All the outfits I've seen or heard about are pretty awesome." At the same time though, he couldn't help but be glad he had escaped it. It wasn't really any fun to be stuck in clothes that weren't yours because of the sphere.

Grabbing the little bag in his pocket, he pulled it out once more. He wasn't particularly in any hurry though. It was nice to have a pleasant conversation with her, even if it was just small talk.

She chuckled. "Yeah, like I said. It's not too bad, as these things go." The heavy skirt felt a little constricting, but she could move well enough.

As he pulled out his wallet, she paused. Like him, she was enjoying the fact that they'd been able to talk without the usual tension, but she was hardly going to attach herself to his leg and beg him to stay.

...but she couldn't let him go without saying something about that sweater. If they'd been on better terms, she just would have badly told him it was ugly, but she supposed the strain in their relationship called for rather more tact.

"Are you sure this is all you wanted?"

He looked down at the sweater for a moment then smiled back up at her. "Yeah, I think this is it. I almost considered getting a hat but..." He shrugged again. It wasn't really his style to wear hats, and he had enough hair to keep his head warm whenever he was without a big winter coat hood.

"I see."

And of course it wouldn't be that easy. She unfolded her legs, rising to her feet and smoothing her skirt over her thighs.

"You know, I think we can find you something that suits you better," she said, her voice faintly dry. She'd only push him so far, but he wasn't buying that ugly thing if she could help it.
