Rukongai gathered up the little wooden coins and considered them again. He had enough food for the week, a blanket, a little bit of clothing. That covered all except one need: a sword. The dream had shown him how comfortable a blade felt in his hand, and the more he heard the more he knew he wanted one back.

There was a weapons shop in the bazaar. That much he knew, even if he didn't know where. A fair bit of wandering finally got Rukongai to the right area, evidenced by a rather good sign.

Ducking in, he saw a small girl, which didn't mean anything... and a great deal of candy. Rukongai took a step back out, looked at the sign, and stepped into the building again. "...That tha right sign? Lollipops poisoned 'r something?"

Krile raised her eyebrows at the man who walked through the door. There sure was a lot of him--and the scar running down his face made it clear that oh yes, he probably would know his way around the merchandise. But she didn't have time to feel either impressed or apprehensive before he backed out of the shop again. That made her grin.

"They usually aren't lollipops," she explained, looking over at the opened cabinet racks. Things were still in their proper places, just... not their proper states. Although there were some on the counter too that she'd been toying with, just to see if there was anything weaponish remaining about them. "Um. Are you new here?" If this was one of the recent arrivals, it probably wouldn't help just to say that 'the Sphere did it.'

Scratching his head, Rukongai tried to mentally work his way around that statement. There was no reason to doubt her, but he didn't get how it worked. "Usually ain't lollipops? They... change?" Maybe the candy splintered off and there was a sharp point underneath. It seemed time-consuming and strange, though.

"Sorta." He shrugged. "Got here before we got stuffed in the campground. Newer'n most. Still figurin' things out." Rukongai ducked his head semi-politely. "Name's Rukongai."

Rukongai! She'd seen that name, yes. And he would definitely need some explanation, in that case. "I'm Krile," she said with a friendly smile. She picked up one of the lollipops, a watermelon-flavored one. Yesterday, it had been a sturdy shortsword.

"Every week or so, something really strange just--happens. Nobody knows what causes it, exactly. When I came in today, all of the swords, spears, and guns had turned into candy." She kept a straight face while telling him, knowing that it would sound too bizarre to be believed. "Usually it's just temporary. All the candy we've got in the racks are supposed to be proper weapons."
