[ooc: Lemme know if this isn't okay and I'll change it!]It was as rainy today as it had been the past few, but Krile didn't let it dampen her spirits. The four people who'd been murdered had returned, entirely intact to all appearances, and that was more than Krile had thought it was reasonable to wish for. She could still hold a strong hope that Paladin would return from the elevator soon, though her worry wouldn't be gone until she saw him again. Still, today she could see good ( ... )

When Krile nudged her, Nova was in the process of sorting through a pile of shoes, intent on replacing the pair that Mimi had devoured the previous week. She hummed and looked up in the direction that Krile was staring, squinting her eyes slightly. "What is that?" she asked, though it was sort of a rhetorical question, since she knew that the other girl probably wouldn't have the answer either.

Whatever it was, it was headed their way. The approaching figure sliced through the air like a fluttering ribbon, details becoming more clear and distinguishable as it drew near.

"It's a dragon!" Nova said after a moment. "A small one, from the looks of it."

The little dragon descended in a gentle arc towards the two girls, flew a loop around them and remained hovering in the air.

"Help!" it said, a sing-song, ululating nonsense sound to most ears. "Will take you, come! Help!"

Its restlessly undulating tail might have shown its growing distress. There was nothing familiar to home on in here, no other recognisable presences than the person who'd summoned it. "Come, come quickly!" It looped around Krile and Nova again, hopefully.

"It is!" Krile said, smiling instantly. She hoped very much that it would be a friendly dragon. It looked too small to do any real harm, but even a small animal could do a lot of damage if it was hostile. But it didn't seem to be at all afraid of the few people on the island, and it didn't have that predatory let's-have-lunch-now look Krile recognized in most monsters.

But the smile vanished when the little creature began speaking. Though Krile heard the musical vocalization, she understood the words that it formed. "Help? Who? Where?" Krile immediately checked to make sure that she had her shortsword on her belt and looked at Nova. "We'd better follow it!"

Of course, Nova's first thought was that the tiny dragon was adorable and, like Krile, she hoped it was friendly. It didn't attack or menace them in any way, but cooed and growled as it came near and circled overhead.

Although she couldn't understand what its calls meant, it was pretty obvious that the little guy was unhappy. Nova turned to Krile, knowing that she at least could understand dragonspeak, and her eyebrows raised a bit when that was confirmed. "There's trouble?" she asked, hefting her sword on her shoulder. "Let's go, then. If something's happened then we shouldn't waste time."
