Reed was seated at the kitchen table, busying himself by thumbing idly through his journal, giving cursory glances at the pages for some answer he knew he'd no hope of finding. Thankfully, he was pulled out from his fruitless musings by Spear's voice.

He closed his journal, tucking it beneath his arm. He stood up to speak with her; after all, it was only polite. "Certainly, Spear. What would you ask of me?"
