Not to say that there weren't still some questions to be asked of the wilderness. What the heck was a "CAN SUNTORY BOSS"? Well, to be sociable, he'd just order it anyway. Confusing and hustled as this city seemed to be, it was a pleasant change from some of the other places he'd scouted thus far.

Besides, electronics stores were in abundance and people seemed very welcoming; certainly not the sort of greeting he'd ever expect as a robot. So when Locket suggested they do some private exploring on their day off, he could hardly refuse.

He finally returned to his companion with canned coffee bearing a mustachioed brand. okay. "So where to next? I hear that tower's a nice place to visit at night."

"I hear it's great as well, but it's become a hot spot. How about the big bridge? Apparently it stores up sunlight during the day and uses its energy to light up in different colors once it gets dark. It isn't far," she replied. The navigator had thought about the tower, but not for what she wished to speak about. She'd never be able to get it out.

Locket gently swirled the cup in her hand, canting her head over Zero's selection. She'd seen a vending machine or two selling that particular brand. "I hear that one's pretty good, if a little sweet."

Bridge and Light? He's fine with it dwn_infinite August 11 2010, 00:41:39 UTC
He popped open the coffee's lid as she spoke, offering a response only after he'd offered himself a sip. "It's not bad."

Zero concerned himself more with their next destination... and her words were sensible. He of all people wasn't one for crowds. "That in the region you were assigned, right? I may as well take a look at it."

"Lead the way. But let's walk this time. I've had enough of that subway."

"One of a few in the rotation. I never got the chance to see the lights myself, actually," she said, striding along. Locket gave a commiserating nod, the trains a great way to get around at first, but as more residents of Edensphere came down the cars were typically filled to the brim. She liked hustle and bustle, but being squashed together among people in a stuffy train car wasn't exactly anyone's cup of tea.

And onward they walked. The sound of advertisements, chatter, and the occasional small vehicle filled the air, the sound of leg pistons a steady rhythm. For that while, Locket had nothing to say... nothing that would come out right. She had to tell him. It was only fair.

The bridge. It was quiet enough. That was why she suggested it, right?

"That was an unfortunate set of matches earlier. All that practice at home with Bridge and I'm still wiping you out in the arcade," she suddenly said, casual as possible. A smile grew.

"Doing those moves is too difficult with a joystick," he muttered. Then again, it was no different when he and Bridge would practice at his place... he could do them in person, they shouldn't be so hard in a game!

Besides, she kept doing that uppercut thing. He hated that.

Nonetheless that topic, too, soon came to pass; it was a while of walking along lamp-lit streets in the dim, cool evening before they neared their destination, and longer still before the crowds began thinning. They'd arrived just in time to see the last rays of daylight fade from the night sky; and now, with the dull rumble of cars and trains to keep them company, he leaned against the railing, peering into the shadowy water below.

"Guess they haven't lit it up yet."
