Characters: Cara (feathered_earth), Nova (ruby_nova), Target (letmefollow) and Juliet (esoteric_rose) Date/Time: July 19th, evening Location: The elevator Rating: G/PG Summary: Guess what time it is, everyone!
Target was feeling rather better than she had done for a while. Her conversation with Bastet earlier that weekend had forced her to deal with her feelings about Snap's disappearance, and while she didn't think the pain was ever going to go away entirely, it was getting just that little bit easier to bear every day.
She had also enjoyed waging foam missile warfare on her subordinates far more than she had ever thought she would.
It had been a long day, and she was looking forward to getting back to her home, taking Hayate for his walk, and then sitting down to supper and after that having a quiet evening reading through Colonel Mustang's notes.
"Cara, hello," she greeted the other girl as she made her way towards the elevator. "How are you?"
Nova wasn't far behind Target on her walk to the elevator. Today had been an incredibly fun day at the office, with a scheduled meeting quickly devolving into full out foam-filled mayhem. She couldn't possibly love her job more.
Unlike Captain Target, Nova didn't have anything to go home to, but she figured she could get a quick shower and hit the Bazaar to grab a sandwich, and maybe finish that book she'd picked up the other day. As she approached the elevator, she waved and grinned at Cara. At least the ride up to the habitat sector would be pleasant with the present company.
Juliet smiled lightly as he walked towards the elevator. The recent surge of getting stuck didn't affect him in the slightest, it simply happened and that was that. Now, tonight he planned to relax, drinking tea and reading one of those language books sounded interesting, and finally, finally, the dreams were edging off.
He gave a polite smile to the three women, he didn't exactly know them.
"Hi there!" Cara said, smiling brightly at Target and Nova. It was quite genuine--her melancholy thoughts had a tendency to evaporate once she ran into a friend. "I'm doing fine... how about you two? Is the Wilderness really a giant ball of twine?"
She returned the polite smile of the third woman that approached the elevator, an elegant lady with very long red hair--wait, no, Cara had seen her before. "You're Juliet, right?" Cara had seen her sometimes when she dropped by Sailormoon's candy shop to chat to her sister and she'd met her briefly while rebuilding the place after the fire. She'd been rather remiss in getting to know her better, actually.
The elevator doors opened then, and Cara stepped inside with another tug at her ponytail.
"It is," Target replied to Cara's query about the state of the Wilderness. "You have to wonder what this place will throw at us next."
She nodded politely at the redheaded woman who joined them and followed Cara into the elevator. She took a moment to pull out her journal and check for any breaking news, and upon finding nothing changed, she put it back and waited for the elevator to depart.
Black Hayate would be pleased to see her; usually she brought the dog to work with her, but knowing that there were likely to be foam projectiles being shot around HQ, she had thought it would be wiser for him to stay behind. Knowing her dog though, he would probably have found a way out of the house and would be waiting for her as she got out of the elevator. She couldn't find it in her to scold him when he was just trying to watch out for her.
