Juliet slowly woke up, the sleep departing from him and a useless dream ending. Something felt different...but what? He was still him, not aged around or anything else stupid.

Turning over, he realized what it was, the color draining from his face and then instantly returning to give him a blush. There was a person with him. This was...Mr. Paladin, he'd seen him before. Why in bloody hell was he in his bed...and shirtless? What had happened last night? He was sure he had gotten to sleep by himself, so unless he'd been slipped some drug, he had no explanation.

Inching back and sitting up, he just stared at the sleeping man, unsure whether to scream, push him out, or wake him up.

Smiling, he picked up the brush and began to gently go through the man's hair, trying not to pull. "Yes...I work for Miss Inara at the Spa part of the time." Mainly as the receptionist, but he would do anything required. "And then at mine and Sailormoon's shop the rest of the time, with the flowers. What do you do, Mr. Paladin?"

"I thought so," Paladin said; being that the clinic and the spa were on the same island, he had passed Juliet not quite infrequently. "Sailormoon...is the candy shop, right?" He knew it was owned by one of Cara's (many) friends, but had never been inside.

"Me? I am a medic." He reached up to touch his hair--surprised at how untangled it was already, after all that it had been through, without feeling more than a slight tug. "You're very good."

"Yes, she does the candy and I do the flowers in our shop, though we're learning from each other." He had thought Paladin was a medic, just confirming.

At the compliment, he blushed a touch. "Thank you. My former roommate, Dani, she used to let me practice on her hair."

"Sounds like a pleasant job," Paladin said, eyelids fluttering a bit. He had only fallen into bed a couple of hours ago, after so horrific a night; the initial confusion/adrenaline rush was fading...and it is so soothing, having someone brush your hair.

"Dani? I remember her," Vaguely, but he didn't elaborate on that.

Juliet just smiled. That house had been pleasant, even more so after Tybalt moved in. But it had been so unbearable after they both vanished...and now he lived with his two best friends. He didn't speak of this, merely finished brushing Paladin's hair. "There. All done."

He noticed the tiredness. "Do you take coffee or tea? We have both." And he could make decent tea by now, even.

"Either," Paladin said, shaking himself slightly, so he would not fall asleep where he sat. "I do prefer tea, though." Coffee was bitter and he disliked the aftertaste, and his experience with tea was so limited, he likely wouldn't even notice any deficiencies in the brewing.

"I wonder, though," Paladin said, touching his hair once again, trying to work out how to phrase it, "How...exactly...you did that."

Considering it vitally important he start the tea now, Juliet went and set the water on, setting up two cups before returning. "You start at the ends, always, and I hold it above the tangles when I get to one. It makes it easier to see and pulls less. You already take good care of your hair, so it's doing well on all levels." Ah, the tea water was boiling. He dashed to pour it out.

Interested in the whole process, and keeping Juliet's advice in mind--above the tangles--Paladin followed Juliet out to the water, and watched the brewing process interestedly. None of the bags, like those available in the break room in the clinic?

"How do you do this?" He asked again, curious.
