Alone.

Alone, in the dark and the pain and the--

She woke with a gasp, and choked instantly on thick fluid, but there was nowhere to cough it up--it was everywhere. She flung out a hand through it and felt rubbery, yielding stuff pressing in all around her.

What's going on--?

The stuff (wall?) was soft under her fingers, and she instinctively dug them in hard, trying to get purchase enough to lift herself up out of the smothering goop and gasp for breath...

...but it crumbled as she pushed, and she found herself tumbling sideways in a rush of warm liquid, coughing helplessly as her lungs found the air.

Allen blinked at how the girl seemed to be choking and crouched down while offering her a towel. "Are you alright?"

He hadn't met a new born he needed to rush to medical yet, but that didn't mean it couldn't happen. If there was one thing certain about Edensphere it was how it liked to mess with everyone. Allen discretely looked away from her bare body. He doubted she wanted stared at even if he was a medic. She didn't know that and he was a boy no less.

Whatever the stuff was, it wasn't hard to cough up. She shut her eyes tight and spat out flecks of sickly-sweet stuff, ignoring the towel being pressed into her hands...

...someone was pressing a towel into her hands. Someone was there.

Catching her breath, she opened her eyes. She was sprawled on a floor, somewhere, and there was...a boy. Politely looking away, and still holding out the towel. Asking a question.

"I'm f-fine," she managed, automatically, and levered herself up onto one elbow to reach for what he offered. "Who...?" Another cough cut her short.

"I'm Allen Walker, and this is Edensphere, miss." He felt the towel being removed from his hands and drew out the other one to hold out in case she needed it. "We all start like this, lacking our memories and hatching from these cocoons." Allen shifted to make himself a little more comfortable as he continued on. "Your dream is important. That's the only remains of who you were and are. Keep hold of it, if you'd like pick your name based upon it."

If only they'd started that need to know handbook sooner than his shift. Either way he set to work unrolling the clothes and draping them over his arm. He held it up free of the goop on the floor. "This place in particular, is our Hall of Beginnings."
