At first the flying bottles that woke him this morning had been a pain. Not to mention Cross yelling at him about breaking glass over breakfast. But Dash had soon discovered that if he timed a rock throw or a casual minor explosion right, he could destroy the bottles and they would, instead of breaking, produce something else ( ... )

HM, AMAZINGLY OBSERVANT. POWERFUL DEDUCTIVE ABILITIES. HE MUST BE A DETECTIVE TOO! PRETTY EASY TO SPOT A FELLOW DETECTIVE. YEAH, THAT'S PROBABLY IT. STILL, MIGHT NEED TO RETHINK GETTING A TRENCHCOAT IF I EVER HAVE TO GO INCOGNITO.

"Hey, wait a minute, haven't I met you before?" Arthur asked, studying the man's face closely. "Yeaaah, you were the one I met when I hatched. What was your name again, kid?"

"You the trench coat's a big giveaway." Dash tossed the rock up, caught it, then grinned and pointed above his own head. "Name's Dash, Arty. Might wanna look up."

Maybe it was ruining the fun to let the guy know what was going on right above his head, but hell. Dash had had both versions of the subtitles before and it had been equal parts embarrassing and frustrating.

"So what's the big case, detective?"
