He'd been looking for the house, since he clearly wasn't going to be told where it was. One person here demonstrated faith in him enough to appoint him to the Watch, and now that person was dead. This was not something Youth could simply ignore or walk away from. An agreement had been made on both sides when he'd been employed. He could not let down Stoneface now. Could not, would not ( ... )

The Force surged behind Handmaiden a second before the knife flashed past her head. Instinct would have led her to duck, to grab the attacker's foot and slam him into the ground before getting on top of him, but that would send him right onto the broken furniture and Stoneface's corpse.

Instead she whirled, calling on the Force to push into the man--shiny black hair, very loud--and send him flying backwards. Rage started to rise with it but she punched it back. She would not allow her emotions to interfere with her judgment.

"Explain yourself!" It came out as a tense shout regardless. "I am Handmaiden. My instructions were specific as to who would be allowed."

He couldn't stop the energy the lashed out at him, but he could land neatly and roll, coming up in the stance he'd used when sparring with Bell. His fists were in front, ready, and his censter of gravity was solid. Then the person spoke, and he straightened, watching her.

"I am Youth. And your first specific instructions said to come." Youth nodded his head to her. "I am sorry about attacking. You looked to be looming over the body, and there was no way to know if you were the killer or not."

He folded his arms. "You should know that I am not going. Tell me how to help, and I will. But this man did not dismiss me the way nearly all others have, and I am helping."

ONLOOKERS ice_echani December 13 2009, 21:59:28 UTC
Re: ONLOOKERS therealplan December 14 2009, 00:03:03 UTC
Innovator lived in section three, so he had a reason to be around there. He read on the journals something had happened to the leader of this new task force. There was a lot of commotion outside the house, and he simply walked past it at first. He wanted to know about what happened, but he took spent too much time here, people would associate him with such a thing.

"What a tragedy." He simply said, pretending to mutter to himself.

Of course he had nothing to do with this, and didn't know the man personally. From what he gathered to far it looked like homicide; was there a judicial system here in the Sphere? He would soon find out, and if not, he could ask his fellow citizens. He could sense that the people around him were angry, frustrated, and confused. There was one person who was especially upset, but he couldn't pin point them.

Apparently Contract had not been the only one with doubts about this police force and its leader. Of course, whoever was behind this had chosen to express him or herself in a rather extreme way. On the other hand, there was always a chance that the murder had nothing to do with the man being the leader of the new Watch, but Contract doubted that was the case. He hadn't been here long, he didn't know who might wish the man ill, but the alleged murder had come too close on the heels of his announcement to be a coincidence.

He stopped outside of the apartment in Section 3, looking with brief irritation at the two men apparently guarding the doorway. They didn't look as though they intended to let anyone pass. A pity; he would have liked to know something of this crime scene himself. There was a pale-haired young man nearby, whom he nodded to briefly.

"Quite a bit dangerous for the working man," he said ironically, after the man's comment.

Sky and Youth- at the doorway blue_shields December 14 2009, 00:29:05 UTC
Sky and Youth were now in position, guarding the doorway of the apartment to try and keep out frantic and/or curious onlookers. Nobody needed to see what was inside except for a select few people who knew who they were.

Sky was prepared to use his shields if necessary, and Youth seemed strong enough to hold his ground if he had to.

[This comment is to establish that Sky and Youth are there. They will NOT be letting anyone who is not Bastet, Wolverine, Justice and perhaps Apollo into the crime scene. You are welcome to thread characters trying under here, with either Youth, Sky or both; or you can simply handwave them being told to step back. Also, not everyone who comes to observe has to note so under this thread, especially if they don't intend to try and barge in.]
