As the Sphere has grown colder, Wolverine has found himself being drawn more and more to the wild spaces: the park; the upper limbs of the Tree; the new forests. He likes to walk, or simply sit and think about his dream, and the things he can't remember, and why the smell of snow in the pines makes something inside him ache with longing.

She's upwind. He stops in the blue shadows beneath a tree and watches her for a few moments, trying to put a name to her face. Eventually he makes himself step forward, his hands in the pockets of his coat, his expression carefully neutral.

"Hey there. You okay?"

She takes a step back for his step forward, mainly because he's a new face and she isn't quite accustomed to trusting those who aren't immediately familiar to her. It must have been quite an illogical choice to wander off by herself, but she's already wandered so far away from home already that a little more wouldn't matter. As long as she can find her way back.

Serenity reads him, or at least tries to. She's very intuitive when she wants to be, picking up on minute details that most wouldn't. His face seems guarded. She adopts the same expression, but she is scared and it's hard.

"Okay is relative. Two syllables but they don't covey any meaning at all. Or too many meanings."

He catches the high metal smell of her fear and makes himself relax a little, smoothing the hard line of his shoulders. He takes his hands out of his pockets.

The cadence of her words is familiar. He thinks perhaps he's read them before, or something like them.

"Serenity, right?"

"Depends on who you ask. It wasn't meant to be a misnomer." she notices the visual cues, changes in his behavior. Muscles relaxed here, hands moved thus to create a persona of safety. Something that requires more research on her part.

"But who are you?"
