It had been a long month. If Snap was honest with himself it had been a long pair of months. The rate of deaths and disappearances had jumped in a way that made his earlier theories fairly bunk. The Sphere seemed designed to frustrate him at every turn. He'd worked too hard and finally been forced to take a day off. It wasn't so bad, he could catch up on all the sleep he missed and work on personal unofficial work
( ... )
He wouldn't admit if asked, but Prongs was actually extremely nervous about seeing his boss again. His stomache churned anxiously as he heard Snap's curt voice through the door. However, as he saw the relieved look on the man's face, Prongs instantly relaxed himself. Snap was actually happy to see him- or at least Prongs thought he was. Not even a moment later and the business like exterior Snap always seemed to present was back.
"Thank you, er- Sir," Prongs muttered as he followed the other into the home. He never really imagined Snap to be an expressive person, but his home was even less decorated than Prongs' was. If one could call Prongs' house decorated; it was messy if anything. It was also a shock to see Snap so casual. He was still dressed nicer than Prongs was, but compared to the usual...
"I just thought that I should check in, or something," Prongs explained once he was in the house, "Since I've apparently been gone for a whole month."
"Its just Snap off duty," He answered with a dismissive wave of his hand. Snap picked up the missing persons stack of paperwork and used a pen to cross Prongs off his lists. "You have been, I was starting to worry you'd disappeared." Like all the others. He couldn't stop it from happening. Yet he fought against that grim reality at every turn.
Sleep didn't come easy these days. "Where you trapped on the fourth floor?" The answers were somewhere, it was what he'd been trained to seek. Snap knew that much about himself. "...What was down there, if you feel comfortable enough to answer." He shifted slightly while he leafed through the papers. "There's been no sign of anyone on our missing list. I'm sorry."
