He was trying to get things back to normal. Well, as normal as they could be. The bruising on his face was subsiding to an ugly brown and green. He still hadn't gone back to work, but he was planning to tomorrow.

Which was why he had decided to go to the library today. He needed to find out more about Spade.

It had taken him the better part of an hour to finally work up the courage to jump off of the island, and his landing on the library island had been less than graceful. He dusted himself off, adjusted the messenger bag on his shoulder, and walked through the crack in the library wall.

He hears something, the flip of paper and a sigh, and he cautiously peeked around the rows of journals. There was a woman there, sitting and reading, and he paused for a second before nodding at her. There was something familiar about her, but he couldn't quite place it. Maybe he'd seen her in the market before? That must have been it.

"Hey."

She should have felt him coming. Most of the people in Edensphere gave off no hint of the energy she always felt emanating from Bastet, Kiba, Blood, and Koi, that energy that, if she concentrated, told her where they were, how strong they were and even a hint at their moods. But over time, Kazahana had discovered that she could recognize a distinct, if much quieter, sense of those she knew well, once she'd spent enough time with them. The more intimate they were, the easier it became ( ... )

She was kind of cute. A little on the short side, but she was pretty. He smiled softly, nodding a bit. Well, there was no reason not to be polite to her.

"I'm Truth." He stepped closer, peeking at what she was looking over. So, it was a medical record. He leaned back from investigating and smiled softly. "Not too many people know how to get out here."

Kazahana just stared. What the hell?

What was that supposed to mean? Did he really expect to just act like nothing had ever happened? The last time she'd seen him, she'd hurled a tacky souvenir plaque at his feet and been tempted to aim it at his head.

"Is that supposed to be a joke?" she asked, confusion evident in her voice.

He blinked a few times. Well, this was getting off to the wrong start. Why was she so cranky, anyway? Maybe she was having a bad day? But not even Justice was this bad on his bad days.

Huh, maybe that was just the way she was.

"Sorry, I'll just...leave you alone now. ...I'll be over in the books, if you need anything."

He could get her name later. He didn't really want to tempt fate right now.
