Dash watched the memory impassively. When it was over he turned his back and walked back to face the elevator, crossing his arms and keeping his usually restless stance neutral as he waited for the doors to open again.

He didn't look at Kazahana, because seeing people's private memories like that--that was wrong. It was an invasion. It was a violation. He had no business knowing this about Kazahana, it pissed him the hell off that now he knew. And neither of them had a choice in the matter.

"Fucking tree." He hissed, to himself, kicking the closed doors.

When the doors had opened, Hybrid had stumbled forward, desperate to be out of it. Her face was near deathly pale with fear. This time, though, the memory played out in front of her. She didn't know anyone there, but it was Kazahana in the memory. The only way to think of it was just as Dash had, though Hybrid couldn't know that.

Her wings were tight with anger. The proud man, her eyes narrowed at him. How could he mistreat a dying man so terribly? Hybrid closed her eyes and went to wait with Dash for the doors to open. It wasn't her memory. It gave her no clues as to where her flock had gone. It wasn't hers and it was quite clearly Kazahana's.

Hybrid's brown eyes lifted to glance at Dash. "About that." She was torn between a cage of death and someone's personal history. A rock and a hard place. Perfect.

So this is what they'd meant when they said that they were going to see a memory ( ... )

Kazahana had frozen in place as soon as the memory had started, not wanting to watch but unable to look away. She's been through this once before as a viewer, and she'd heard about what others saw when they were taken to the fourth floor. She'd expected to see a memory out of someone's past.

But she hadn't expected it to be hers.

How had this happened? When had this happened? Hakuteiken and Toushi fighting was nothing new to her--she remembered an argument she'd recalled through a memory crystal, and Hakuteiken didn't seem to like Toushi when they were both here. But knowing that was a far cry from seeing him condemn Toushi to death. And Kiba, too? What had he been doing?

What had she been doing? She'd been stricken with horror at her own behavior. The look of betrayal on Toushi's face...Kazhana didn't think she'd ever forget that.

But he'd still come to save her. Why? Or maybe this had happened after he'd saved her life? How ungrateful that would be. And the crime she'd spoken of...what had she done ( ... )

Dash glanced at Hybrid. She definitely had a thing going about the elevator, but he was a little too pissed to be much help. He wasn't like Throne, he couldn't just be charming and witty whatever the circumstances. He sort of resented Throne for being gone, and leaving Dash and Code without him as their PR man.

Not that Throne woulda been with them anyway, really. He sighed and turned to look at Kazahana, leaning his hip against the elevator, waiting for it to let them back on and out.

"Like hell we will, K. That shit's not our business. Right guys?" He looked from Hybrid to Ari for confirmation.
