Doll closed her journal, placing it in the little wicker basket she had taken to using for shopping, or generally toting things about. It wasn't the best vessel to carry stuff from points A to B, perhaps, but she was rather fond of the style. That, and she didn't have any sort of dress with a pocket big enough for that journal.

Within minutes, she was out of temporary housing and headed for the elevator. She was still keeping an eye out for a job opportunity in the market, but until something turned up, she had a small project in mind. Something to test herself with.

As she walked, she kept a keen eye out for her given description. Short red hair, and an eyepatch.

Rabbit ran a hand through his red hair. He towered over a good majority of the crowd at nearly 6 feet tall, but he still had no idea what he was looking for. A doll. Well a doll could look like anything really. He should have asked for another description.

Then he saw someone incredibly different from the rest. He approached her, and as per usual habit, seemingly appeared from nowhere. "Yo ♥" he greeted her. "Ya happen t' be Doll?"

Doll started as a flash of red stepped right into her path. A second, more rational glance caught an eyepatch, short red head, and a friendly face. She smiled; the gesture a little crooked as always, the way her lips were sewn.

"Yes. And you're Rabbit?" She returned, offering a hand. He.. Didn't really remind her of a rabbit..

hell if i know. he does it all the time XD redhead_rabbit July 28 2009, 23:14:34 UTC
It was a very unique smile. His observation skills kicked in, noticing how her body appeared to be sewn together, as if a living doll. It made sense now.

"Yup, that's my name." He shook her hand with a friendly smile drawn across his face. He looked nothing like a rabbit, but it was the one thing which stuck in his mind from the dream.

She had a couple of days off, so she decided to spend the days out and about. Locket lived alone in Section 1, so there wasn't really much space for her to spend time at home, now was there?

Her fingers pried open a brand new book, its spine stiff from a lack of use, and she began her aimless wandering through the Marketplace with her nose stuck in a book. From the look of the cover, she'd picked up a new novel from the Mystery Writer, A Fresh Hot Pot Of Passion. It starred the exploits of the jazzy 'Cafe' and the woman of his dreams, 'Soul'.

Locket was lost immediately in the contents, flipping page after page as she wandered. Had she read the note? No... but she was in the Marketplace nonetheless, and could be approached if one felt such an inclination.

Rabbit never appeared to be observant, but in fact, he saw everything. The people in the market, what they wore, what the weather was like, what everyone was talking about (even could separate the conversations and make sense of them), and what everyone happened to be doing at that time. He had no idea why he could do it or why he hadn't gone insane yet, but somehow he hadn't.

And there was one thing that happened to always grab his attention away from his observations. A book. And one which had a very unusual name to it, too. "Whatcha got there?" he asked the stranger, suddenly appearing next to her out of seemingly nowhere. He had no fear, really. He just approached people.

Ahh, she liked slice-of-life. Cafe was sitting at a table, enjoying a fresh cup, and Locket turned the page. The man sounded so handsome, but she was eager to hear of where Soul would come into the picture!

"Whatcha got there?"

The tall purple-haired woman squeaked at the voice so close to her, her guard down from her distraction, and the book was fumbled in her hands for three seconds before she tightly clutched it to her chest and blew out a quiet sigh of gathering her senses. A green eye peeked out from behind the curtain of purple at her bangs, and though she was blushing, she addressed the gentleman.

"O-oh! Just something that came out today. Are you familiar with the Mystery Writer novels?" She asked quietly, admitting her preference before she could help herself. Locket was a navigator... being caught by surprise was very unlike her, but a good book just sucked away her attention.

Rabbit was incredibly skilled at sneaking up on people and appearing where he was least expected. He had no idea why he did it, it just happened. "Didn't mean t' scare ya ♥" he grinned softly and invitingly. He may have had the look of a redheaded pirate, but he sure didn't act like one.

"Can't say I am," Rabbit shook his head. "I'm more of a history person, myself."

Lampwick stretched as he stepped off of the elevator, frowning a little to himself as he made his way through the marketplace. Things had taken a turn for the serious lately and the atmosphere was enough to wear him down. So what better way to beat the bad vibes than spending time with a friend right?

He was keeping his eyes open for the medic, but in some places he had to be more careful not to burn anyone with his tail. People really needed to look down now and again. He was very short compared to them after all.

Eventually, he quite literally bumped into someone's leg. A very tall someone at that.

Rabbit had been looking for someone much larger with a fire tail. He ran his hand through his hair, unable to find Lampwick. That's when he felt something collide with him. The tall redhead looked down to find someone with a fire tail. Literally.

He knelt down. "Yo ♥. Ya wouldn't happen t' be Lampwick, yeah?"

Wow, this guy was like a giant compared to him, and Lampwick actually stared speechless for a long moment before Rabbit's question registered finally. "Wha-? Oh yeah, I'm Lampwick..." he trailed off long enough to glance at his hair color. "Rabbit right right?"

Rabbit smiled softly and sweetly. "Yeah, that's me ♥" The kid was different than Rabbit expected and he really did have a fire tail. Literally. "Nice t' finally put a face to writin' 'n a name."

[ would lampwick like to be picked up? XD ]

A trip to the marketplace, whether he was there for something in particular or just wandering aimlessly, always meant that at least one stop was certain for Geranium--the donut stand. He didn't know why he liked them so much, but they were just so good! Fresh and warm with just the right amount of sweetness: donuts could be the perfect food.

And this time, too, they were something like a salve for the strange events that had been going on lately. The weird entries on the journal...the disappearances and deaths. He hadn't said anything about any of it. He didn't know how to say that things that happened to people he didn't even know caused him so much upset that he couldn't sleep. It seemed almost selfish.

The donuts were extra good today. Geranium sat on a bench to eat them and smiled at the people who passed, because smiling was better than brooding.

It hadn't been a long day (for once) for Rabbit but there was something he loved to get whenever he happened down to the marketplace. Donuts. There was something about that cakey creation that was amazing. He could recall donuts from wherever he came from but that was about as far as he got.

Suddenly beside Geranium sat a redhead. Who knew how he got there or when he did, just that he was. It was a habit of his to simply appear where he was not expected. How he did it, well that was a well-kept secret. It was a great means to start conversation, to say the least.

"Yo ♥. Great donuts, yeah?"

Geranium blinked. One moment he'd been alone, the next a red-haired guy was sitting on the bench next to him. How the heck had that happened? "W-well hey there!" he greeted, covering up his surprise with his customary enthusiasm. "You sure appeared fast, is that some kind of magic you have?"

The stranger's appreciation of the donuts immediately won him over. "Aren't they amazing? I can't remember when I've had a more delicious food! Do you want some?"

The redhead grinned pleasantly. "Strange skill I got, yeah ♥," he replied vaguely.

He pulled from his bag a rather large chocolate-covered custard-filled donut. "Got a few myself, yeah. Gotta be some'a the best food here." He liked a lot of the foods around here, but for some reason, donuts won over most of the time. Cookies a close second, followed by bbq.
