She felt weightless, floating, her mind full of the dream, remembering the courtroom and the things she had seen there. She opened her eyes, reaching out through a greenish sort of glow, her hands moving slowly as though she still dreamed. They brushed against some sort of barrier, and then there was a sudden burst--

She yelped as she hit the floor, covered in a layer of slimy goo. What was this? What was she doing here? Why was she naked and covered in gunk? And above all--above all--who had those people been, the man and the girl? Had she managed to save them? She gathered her shaky limbs in, looking down at herself and the stuff that covered her, brushing at it ineffectually with her fingers. Then she looked up. Had a voice said hello?

"Okay," she said slowly. "Whoever you are, you can come out now. This is not a funny prank."

He sat silent for a few moments before he heard the voice. Her voice, the one he had heard in the back of his mind so many times, the one he himself had used when he was changed into her.

He was on his feet the moment his mind made the connection, and he only barely reminded himself to grab the bundle and towels that he kept next to him on the desk. He scooped everything up into his hands and half-ran to the source of the voice.

And there she was, covered in goo, but nonetheless...here. It took him a few seconds before he could speak, and even then, he fumbled over his words.

"H-hey." He held out one of the towels. "Welcome to Edensphere."

There were a million questions he wanted to ask her, but he figured he'd start from the beginning. She was here now, and they would have plenty of time to get to know each other, he hoped. Who was this woman, anyway? She was someone important, but who? Was she his family? She was related to Medium somehow, he was sure, but just how?

"Do you have a name? Something from your dream?"

Urgh, she'd been hoping not to see a guy, not when she seemed to have so much skin that needed covering up. She fairly snatched the towel from his hand and held it over her front, not bothering to employ it to get the gunk off of herself yet. "Okay, mister, I'd like to know what I'm doing naked and covered in goop. I'm sure this is somehow illegal." Then she blinked. "What's Edensphere?"

The man looked just as lost as she did, which for some reason made her feel a little better about him. That, and he was keeping his eyes above her neckline. "Name?" She was about to say that she had no idea, but then the dream came to her again. The man and the girl in chains, the voice that had spoken to her and told her she was dead... "Spirit."

"Everyone shows up like that." He looked down for a moment and then looked away, trying his best to be as polite as possible. Somehow, he felt like she deserved that much. But who was she, exactly, and why was she here now?

"Edensphere...it's a giant tree in a glass dome. ...and yeah, I know that sounds crazy."

He held down another towel for her. "I can...umm...look away, if you want to wipe yourself off. You'll be able to shower when you get down to temporary housing, Spirit."

He smiled a bit as he turned his back to her and looked out over the cocoons. "But yeah, like I was saying...this is Edensphere. You'll be able to live in temporary housing for two weeks until you find a job. I've got some spending money for you, a map, and a journal. The journals let us communicate with each other."
