"I'm here!" Renae quickly finished off something in her sketchbook, then sat up and closed it for now. Sketches were less important than spending time with Cara, especially after Tatsu persisted in not being found. She pushed herself off the bed and headed over, her kitten following and rubbing herself against Cara's leg in greeting.

"What's up?" She raised an eyebrow, forcing herself not to babble about her sketches or any number of other things. Cara seemed pretty serious.

"Yo." Helios called lazily from his spot at the table where he had his supplies set out for maintaining his sword. He didn't get to use it that often in serious combat but that didn't mean he wouldn't sharpen it when it needed sharpened, granted he felt as though something were missing to the process...

Ah well, they had a guest. He set aside his work and stood to go greet Cara. His eyes darted from her suspiciously red eyes and the two books...

Helios could guess what had happened, but said nothing for the moment, giving the girl a chance to speak.

Cara took a deep breath, carefully arranging the words in her head before she spoke. She held out one of the journals that Bastet had given her, the one belonging to Nothlit.

"I just talked to Bastet... Nothlit's gone from the Sphere," she said, managing to speak steadily. "So is Tatsu."

She couldn't think of much else to add to that and so left it at that. Saying it succinctly and directly was best anyway. She didn't think that either of them had been unprepared to hear this news, but it would still be hard.

The redness in Cara's eyes once Renae got closer was telling; she almost didn't need Cara to explain, though finally hearing those words brought some closure. She heaved a sigh and nodded dully, looking down. "...I know. Someone would have heard from them by now, if they were still around. I'm sorry, Cara...." And though Renae wasn't often the hugging type, Cara looked as though she needed one, so...hug.
