There hadn't been any new arrivals in months, and Bastet had no reason to expect that today would be any different. She sat on the ground, her back against a bed, resisting the temptation to crawl up and take a nap. Things had calmed down quite a bit with the success of the evacuation, so she'd have time enough for that later ( ... )

So Dash hadn't been feeling very talkative for... Well face it, months. Since Rivelata. He'd stuck to home with Cross or used his speed to just... Avoid people. But he couldn't sulk and mope forever. He'd been trying to come back to being sociable cheer up emo kid!So on a whim he'd left his couch fort to come see what other people were doing. First order of business was finding B. Her company was probably the easiest on him, right after Cross and Sky. He still had that vague hero worship for her, but it was toned down since it had been at the beginning, and for an adult? She was really pretty okay ( ... )

He blinked at Bastet and tried to think of a reasonable response. "Given what circumstances?" Okay that was perfectly reasonable. He sounded like an idiot but that was cool. He took the offered towel with a grateful thanks and started removing the goop from the important parts. You know nose, ears, eyes, mouth those things. "...I feel like a slug." He offered before a new voice caused him to have a wave of nostalgia.

"Well you know, sometimes fish bowls need new blood to liven it up. I guess." He tried to see who had spoken before looking back at Bastet. "Which brings me to the million dollar question...where is this and why can't I remember anything? Okay that was two questions."

Bastet couldn't help it; she laughed, the sound warm, with no hint of meanness. "It's hard to look good falling out of a giant cocoon. I mean, I managed, but we can't all be me."

She looked over her shoulder at Dash, a faint warning note in her voice. "New? More or less. You can come over and say hi if you promise to be be good." She wouldn't try to keep them apart. And this was likely just what Dash needed after the last few months.

Her heart fell a bit as she looked back at Want--or whatever he'd be calling himself now. He clearly didn't remember being here before.

"This place is called Edensphere. We all arrive the same way you did," She motioned to the cocoons. "All any of us remember of ourselves is the dream we had before waking up. You won't remember your name either...so you should choose one from the dream."

She gave him a faint, sympathetic look. "This is going to be a lot to take it. I know you'll have a lot of questions, so try to bear with us."

Dash froze when Want started talking. He met Bastet's eyes, his own wide, surprised, sort of pained as he got a better look at the newcomer. Oldcomer? Hell.

He sidestepped a little closer, stiff, attempting to be casual, crouched next to Bastet and tried really, really hard not to stare at his twin. He glanced back at Bastet, the frown at his face saying clearly He doesn't remember. Fuck, fuck, fuck. What do I do? He wasn't so good at this, he'd follow her lead.

He wished he could talk to her in private and ask what the hell he was supposed to do in this situation, but no luck. He gave Want--was it Want? What name would he pick?--a sort of lop-sided grin.

"I'd suggest you use a life-line dude, but even calling a friend's not going to answer that one for you. B's told you about as much as any of us know, really." A pause, a memory of a long-gone conversation. "I personally think we're some scientists' sick social experiment, but, y'know, alien abductions have been a popular theory. In the past." From you.
