"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Cross assured Lucy as he hurried along and ran a hand through his white mop of unruly white hair. He quickened his pace while dancing around the remains of an Akuma he'd destroyed a few days ago. He was going to miss this city that spoke of his past. He supposed he'd find it all out on his own one day. Those in the tree needed him.

With that thought he sped forward in a sudden burst of speed and cleared the pavement in a swift leap. He darted into the elevator and gently grabbed her arm to draw her inside. "Let's go back." He breathed while shaking the rain water from his dripping wet hair. It plastered against his face making his smile look a little less polite and more like a street rat's. "Let's go back to the others." He repeated in a soft tone of voice.

Finally he was going back.

It was really hard to enjoy yourself when there were multicolored turkeys running around everywhere. Who the hell was in charge of those choco-whatsits, and why weren't they doing anything? Always the genius, however, Chosen had come up with a plan: Using his shield, he had been able to throw his weight about, sending the birds backwards to form a path when the swathe of them had become particularly thick. His "mastery" of the giant birds was enough to give a few of the local ladies of the Marketplace something to titter about, and that was just fine by him.

Besides, when his weight wasn't enough, the girls helped him corral some of the large birds, and that meant the occasional giggling pile of Chosen-plus-Hunnies helping the much heftier chocobos get to a less-inconvenient spot.

He didn't notice the nearby elevator begin its way to this level, and he wouldn't notice the two of them amid the sea of feathery creatures.

The two of them had been stuck on the fourth floor long enough as Lucy let herself be pulled into the safety of the elevator. The doors closed shut immediately, knowing that she'd miss that haunted feeling city. She'd have to ask about that era because she'd never really seen anything quite like it. She plopped down on the floor of the elevator, giving her hair a thorough shake to somehow convince it to not stick to her head like it was nobody's business before she started humming a strange little tune. The tune had her giggling as she pushed her bangs out of her eyes ( ... )
