Vanilla had decided to take a bit of a break from poker. Everything was going according to plan; tonight she'd try her luck at some of the better tables. The better tables were the ones where people had more money. If she could get them while they were drunk out of their minds... Well then Vanilla would be feeling pretty damn lucky.

Right now was not the time for those musings. It was time to clean up the mess the zombies had left. A bucket was set on the floor. The contents were a simple cleaning mix, warm water and plenty of soap. A large corner of the room had already been cleaned. That was where everything salvageable had been packed in together. Earlier today she had found an eyeball resting on the floor. It had shriveled up a bit so she figured that it had been there for a while.

Vanilla chuckled, finding that morbidly amusing. Moments later a boy peeked into the store and called out. She turned her head calmly to greet him. "Hello, how may I help you?"

"Oh! ... Er, hi!" He stood up straighter then, and quickly dusted off the simple clothing given to him by his greeter. A hand went to the back of his head as he had a look around, and his heart sank at the mess. The place must have been really cozy before the zombies attacked.

"The real question here is: How may I help you? I wonder if I can help clean or something. Books shouldn't be covered in zombie junk, and a bookstore should be ... warm and cozy." His cheeks colored at the last bit, hoping this girl wasn't just someone who worked here for the cash, not for the joy of the contents.

Clearing his throat audibly, he poked his index fingers together.

Vanilla blinked in surprise. She did not expect a stranger to offer help. His words seemed to be a bit awkward. Judging by the blush on his cheeks, she figured he was a bit shy. As he poked his index fingers together she nodded. "I wasn't expecting any help but you're welcome to if that is what you really want." The girl smiled at him warmly. "Your words are quite refreshing, sir. I am Vanilla. What is your name?"

"I'm Magus! I don't really peg myself as much of a 'sir', though." He replied with a smile, and went to grab another brush to help scrub the walls and shelves. He got to work with extra vigor, starting at a grimy spot with circular scrubbing motions, the tip of his tongue sticking between his lips in concentration.

"Were you going to try and clean up by yourself? These zombies are complete pigs! I bet a lot of people come here for the peace and quiet, huh?"

The girl cocked her head to the side. "It is a polite gesture really. It is a pleasure to meet you Magus." Vanilla began to scrub on the opposite side of the room, looking a bit thoughtful.

"I was." She shrugged. "The undead do not tend to be clean. Ah, yes, most of my customers enjoy relazing here."
