Quite unlike Hakuteiken, Scales didn't have trouble with the idea of knowing. He felt a little ticked off about having his memories taken from him, and a little annoyed that he couldn't remember his own name (it was his name damn name!), but all in all he was fine. After all, the tree was an all right place, with mostly cool people and a lot of weird stuff to investigate and figure out. So far, most of his 'investigations' had involved a lot of napping and climbing, something which he was very fond of, and resulted in learning which trees on Park Island were good for napping and that it was a big tree ( ... )

It wasn't like anyone could really miss seeing the lizard-man. Even though Hakuteiken was probably one of the most formal people in Edensphere, he wasn't necessarily friendly or polite. Despite the fact that it was a lizard-man passer-by, the man didn't even flinch or bat an eye, continuing onward toward the marketplace with head held high. Yes, with head held high.

Regardless of inner conflicts, that was always the way he carried himself--with, or without memories, it seemed. His clothing didn't seem the part, but perhaps he'd rectify that soon enough. He'd just rolled along with it for the time being, even though it bothered him incessantly.

This guy looked waaayyy too serious to be heading to the marketplace. And no, he didn't bother saying 'hi'--it wasn't his style. But it was always stuck-up, quiet people like this who were the best targets to pick on.

Had Scales read narrative, he would agree. As it was, he just sort of stood there and wondered about that straight expression on the other man's face, wondering if he was having really, really deep thoughts or maybe he was just born without some of the expression muscles in his face. After all, both were possible. As for now, though, he was strange because he didn't really seem like a social type. If anything, Scales would have guessed this guy had servants for his servants to send to the marketplace to buy his eggs and cheese.

"Yo, penny for your thoughts?" He asked, arching an eyebrow-ridge. This guy probably had some interesting thoughts.

He wasn't prone to sharing thoughts with anyone in general, but this applied most especially to complete strangers and the inferior. For whatever reason, he was pretty sure that the aforementioned applied to this creature being as well.

But instead of completely ignoring the other, Hakuteiken had at least halted. Even though he could've completely disregarded the lizard-man, he'd decided to for whatever reason to grace him with an answer.

"No."

...and that was when he started walking again. He was never really a man of many words.
