God, where to begin? I think I'll limit myself to the first two paragraphs...specifically, what the opposite is like. "Good sex produces a chemical happiness, and we carry this around with us all day long, from one interaction to the next. We go about our days on winged feet, floating just above the ground, and why not?"

I've come to realize the cumulative effects of 'not getting any'. More specifically, prolonged periods of no intimacy at all. No sex, no touching, no kissing. And when I refer to a 'prolonged' period, I'm currently looking at...well...let's just say the better part of a decade now.

Sex really can be a soulful expression, a physical manifestation of 'why we're here'. So if this is the case, what does that make an extended perdiod of isolation? Especially if it's not what you'd order, given a choice.

As long as it doesn't depress me, I think I'll go back and read the post again. Let it properly soak in. Who knows; maybe it'll lighten my mood, provide some hope on this wintry evening.
