fun with coloring books, part three

I finished off my stained glass coloring book listening to three podcasts of varying length, and have started in on my weird geometric pattern paper coloring book. That one is vicious and evil on my wrist, because the shapes are so small and fiddly and colored pencils have much smaller tips than big Crayola markers so they fill space at a much ( Read more... )

I've been seeing stories about adults getting into coloring books. Looks like fun :) I think I'll continue spending my (more and more limited) discretionary income on yarn, because I am now addicted to crochet.

I used to know how to crochet, at least the very basics, once upon a time when I was very small. I might still have a crochet hook lying around somewhere, and I'm pretty sure I have some yarn. Perhaps I should find a couple tutorial videos and see if I can pick it up again... :-)

(I do all this because I need something to keep my hands occupied and thus eat spare brainpower while I listen to audio-only things; I cannot otherwise maintain focus for more than a couple minutes. Sewing works -- I have hemmed a fair number of pants and made a bunch of repairs while listening to podcasts -- as does something as trivial and pointless as arranging loose popsicle sticks into geometric patterns. Coloring books were just what I had on hand most recently, when I got tired of needles and thread.)
