4. I would think it has something to do with earthbending, and having a deeper connection to the earth. And with earthbending, a lot of their stances tend to require them being firmly rooted (haha) to the ground seeing as the earth is their medium.

I think all the Earthbenders we've seen tend to run around barefoot.

23. Hehe. Yeah, I think so. Made in the Earth Kingdom/Never give up is forilla. XD

4. Fair enough! But it must get awfully cold in the winter.

Translations of everything. Scroll down for the wanted posters.

It's interesting seeing you reacting to the seasons individually since I always view the first two as sort of running together. I didn't even remember that the season finale for S1 was the siege of the north. At the time, I believe I was so excited waiting for the new season, I really didn't care that it's not the best season finale in the world. Season 2's finale is probably the best of them. While the third season ended pretty much as I expected it to, I'd been hoping it would exceed my expectations.

You're going to meet Toph soon. Yay!

4) Agree with eatsyourface; they tend to channel through their feet.  I think Toph gets coaxed into wearing shoes at some point, but it is weird for her.

Yay, Toph must be coming up soon. :DDDD

12) Well, this whole thing isn't exactly personal to him, you know?  OK, all his ppl were devastated, but he wasn't there to see and rage against it, and it wasn't even this generation of asshole Fire Nation aggressors... of course, getting chased down by Fire Nation and having his current friends hurt is no good, but really, unlike most of the ppl in the world, he remembers when they all basically got along....

Which may be why he has a chance to make peace; he knows it's possible for the nations to live in harmony.

Quoth the Avatar wiki, "Earthbenders typically go barefoot, to increase their connection with the earth."

I'm not sure how feasible this would be IRL though. I mean, they live in a city, with all its icky stuff on the ground..

In real life, it would not be feasible in the least. Not only are there all kinds of hazards on the ground, we have these little things called seasons. Going barefoot in winter is a great way to lose your feet. Frostbite, you know?

Well, you could argue that they live in a warm climate that lacks severe winters? (I don't remember if they show seasons canonically)
