Castiel clears his throat and Dean nods without looking at him, fighting back an odd sense of yearning of his own. "Yeah. Let's go. Sammy's waiting for me." A pause. Castiel's hand touches his shoulder and Dean turns a little to look at him. "Wait. Who do you think he meant for you to, uh, walk beside?"
Castiel's smile is soft, something close to human. "Oh, Dean," he says. "You know who he meant."
Ah! I found this so sweet! I believe that Dean can be a good teacher to Cas and Cas vice versa. I just love the subtext from between Will and Bran and Dean and Cas. Just wonderful!
And I loved how Sam ASKED for help instead of trying to fix things on his own for a change. One of the things I hate about Sam and Dean is their selfish need to take care of things on their own when they have people who would literally die to help them out of a jam.
All in all, a fantastic crossover. I should really read the book.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! And you totally should read the books.
(You can get all the books of the sequence in a collected edition; I recently posted about my love for it, and that post has links to my reviews of the sequence... *grin*)
Thank you for the rtf copy. They are wonderful for holidays and just sitting on my deck reading instead of trapped in the house on a nice day. Looking forward to reading this. I have had the dark is rising sequence to read forever, maybe this will spur me on to get that read as well.
This is amazing. I was browsing through the sn_crossover community and, when I came across this, I was so awed and delighted! I've loved DiR for the longest time - it's been one of my most favorite novel series forever - and I was so shocked that someone actually wrote a crossover between it and my favorite show! Talk about double delights! Also, to add to that, you wrote every character so perfectly, and with such a firm, impressive grasp on grammar! Will and Bran are so...subtly beautiful, I guess, for lack of better terms, and that's what makes them so difficult, but I think you managed to capture them just right. I especially love how Bran and Dean can't seem to get along. xDD Thanks for writing this wonderful story! ♥
Thank you! It's good to know people are reading my stuff. TDIR is one of my favourite series, too. And I never intended Bran and Dean to dislike each other, but it seemed so natural that I let them, haha!
