You are excellent at combining the sad poignant feel of this entire piece with snippets of humor -- I bet I'm getting pudgy, aren't I? actually made me laugh out loud -- and little details, like Jane snoring, which make the story feel really rich despite Barney's lack of sight.

And yes, how -- sad but not-sad, just sort of regretful, and of all of them it had to be Barney to lose his sight and everything that went with it.

I enjoyed this. :)

I kept having to go back and erase bits where I talked about the way things look, because Barney can't see and it's mostly limited to his point of view. So that MADE me think about how he would figure things out.
