Summary: Axel would rather go for the straight forward solution. For feywood, for my first kisses meme.
Axel would've said, once upon a time, that to want, you had to have a heart to want with. But he was a different person then -- literally. And he wasn't sure there was anything in the world he wanted more than Roxas. Or possibly a heart to truly want Roxas with, but then it descended into pettiness, really, and he'd rather go for the straight forward solution.
Which was, of course, the tactic he adopted with Roxas. The kiss turned out awkward -- he'd leaned in from a funny angle, and Roxas had been about to turn away -- and Roxas took what would have been several eternal heartbeats to respond, and even when they moved closer there were too many elbows and bony knees that really shouldn't have been there.
"We could do with some practice," Axel said, with a grin he didn't really feel. He did feel shaky, off-balance. Full of feeling.
Roxas smiled back at him and started their first practice session right away.
