I'm too young to remember Andy's Gang, the kid's show with Andy Devine, but I watched an episode when it showed up on the TVNetworks channel on Miro. So that's where that phrase comes from ( Read more... )

I AM just old enough to remember that show! Just barely; I was a toddler when it was on. And I remember being TERRIFIED by Froggy! I don't remember why, exactly, I just was.

And thank YOU for bringing back that old trauma! Brr!

Unfortunately, I am old enough to remember, though I do not remember that particular phrase. The only thing that really stands out in my mind was Andy Devine's voice. He was on a couple of other shows, IIRC.

I'd hear that phrase every once in a while, and figured it was from a kid's show without really knowing which one. Devine's voice was unique! He was a classic sidekick in scores of westerns, and was all over 60s television sitcoms and dramas. I especially enjoyed his role as the sheriff in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance".

My video-savvy friends have frightened me with scary words like "codec" and "AVI." Is Miro user-friendly for dummies like me who would mainly want to watch anime vids and movie episodes? Or would I be wading into codec-infested waters?

My sister still has her small Froggy--and there is a large version visible in the kid's room in MATINEE.
