if we didn't get the rainy days, the area wouldn't be fit to live in because of all the Californians that would move here... many do and many leave after not being able to convert the place to north-northern California.
We don't actually get that much rain... less than NYC but it takes so long to get that 34" of annual precip. no dust storms, no hurricanes, no opressive heat, few right wing extremists, our volcanos dump their stuff to the east, no need for down... my winter wear (unless I'm going to the mountains) is almost the same as my summer wear. and... we get this amazing phenomena sometimes in the winter... this bright orb in the south that warms our face and dries our hair... and sometimes at night there are stars... and auroras... and the grass grows all year
none here, either. I mean, I actually bought candy, but decided to "not be home" tonight. I took a couple of bags over to the new neighbors for their boys, and it was quiet here. my guess was there were less than 20 kids came up our street this year, from the voices I heard a couple of times.
