Oh, god, Putin. He's insane in a way that's terrifying and awesome all at once. My new favorite thing: like in any collective work, group sex is good because people can slack off a bit

Intellectually, I want to refute the word awesome, but I take your point. If I had ever thought that an ex-KGB agent would end up being President of post-Soviet Russia, he certainly wouldn't have been as quirky as this one.

Awesome in this sense could be used in the more concrete sense of "looked upon with a sense of awe" not necessarily the more common sense of "so cool and amazing!"

Because he is terrifying; and watching his actions and his public persona is like watching.... I dunno. The polar bears, the guiding birds on their migration, etc. etc. etc. It's... incredible. And I suppose since I'm so far removed from his sphere I can look and laugh, a bit, while tucking the terror firmly away.
