Ugh. What... happened?

[Phoenix's voice is noticeably younger, though still distinctly accented with the formal tones of Aeropa. He also sounds very confused, possibly just a little dazed at first, though that soon clears up. He isn't speaking into his comm, but it's on and near enough to pick up his voice.]Jol? Commander who?

[Hi Phoenix. It's your war buddy who... no longer remembers any war.]

[Phoenix sits up straight at the unexpected and unfamiliar voice. A moment later, though, he's spotted the comm and picked it up.]

Commander Chad. Commander of the Wingfall Strike Force.

Who is this?

... Which strike force? Never heard of that one... Your division new or something?

Ironhide. Ground division, Cybertronian Armed forces.

Not unless you consider five years to be new.

[Ironhide's name does not ring any bells with him. Nor does anything else he said. Phoenix frowns. He's cautious now, even though this man sounds vaguely Aeropan.]

Where did you say you were frown?

You're a POW.

[Another unfamiliar voice. The frequency this thing must be broadcasting on is obviously public. He snorts at at Bass's claim.]

If that were the case, I imagine I would be confined to a room or cell of some sort, not in an open field and with transportation readily at hand.

[Even if he doesn't know how to fly it.]

Try again.

You're on a boat in the middle of the ocean with no lifeboats and no sign of land.

You're definitely a POW.

And you are obviously lying, sir. I am surrounded by land. I'm sitting on grass and looking at the sky. If this is a boat, then it's a boat big enough to hold the world.

[Oh you must be joking.]

Where are you?

[Phoenix makes an exasperated sound, muffled, as though he isn't intending for Razer to hear it.]

I don't know. That's what I'm trying to find out. It's an open field, grass, a few trees, and a dirt path that looks like it loops back on itself. I've never seen any of it before in my life.

farfairersoul March 6 2010, 02:10:09 UTC
[Razer stops and thinks. The looping back on itself gives it away, he thinks. Razer heads for deck twenty.]

...How old are you, Phoenix?

[Phoenix's eyebrows draw together.]

How do you know my name?

None of us think it's funny.

None of us.

[Ashelin scowls.]

[Irritated or not, there's a girl on the comm, and that definitely has Phoenix's interest.]

I suppose I should be glad that I'm not the only one caught up in this, whatever it is, but I think I would prefer the alternative if it brought a smile to your face.

[Shut up, that's not corny at all. Serious flirting going on here, kthnx.]

[Who the hell does this guy think he is? Does he really think those kinds of lines will work on her?]

Uh-huh. Sure you do. Name and rank, soldier.

[This is her attempt to be all professional and stuff. Impressing the Baron and living up to his expectations is important.]

Airman Phoenix, right wing pilot in the Wingfall Strike Force, at your service, miss...?

[Hello, Phoenix.]

[Oooh. And a very nice hello to you, too!]

Why thank you, miss... I'm sorry, but as much as it shames to me admit this, I don't know the name of the woman who owns such a lovely voice. May I the pleasure of making your acquaintance?

[This is lovely. This is a lovely time.]

The name's Lily. Lily Worth.

Lily... your name alone is worth it.

[You know how suave Phoenix can be as an adult?

...yeah, teenage Phoenix still has a lot of room to work.]

And how are you faring this day?
