[Someone had bombed his room, and if Phoenix were to hazard a guess, it would be to pin the blame on the woman who had threatened to kill him earlier and specifically mentioned bombs. He had no idea who she was or what she was capable of ( Read more... )

[Well, if he should happen to wander up towards the top deck, he will very likely run into one very large, very heavily armed Autobot. An Autobot who is currently taking potshots at the waves over the side.]

[Ironhide's expression doesn't change, save for a brief, barely perceptible nod. He could have been twitching a fly away - save for the fact his good optic was locked on Phoenix.]

Get in, then.

[He wastes no more time, just steps back, and transforms - gears grinding out sparks as the Autobot folds away into the truck. The cab door swings open. It might be a tight fit, but there should be enough room for one man.]

[Watching that transformation is always impressive - so many parts moving with precision and purpose, shifting without interfering with each other to create and entirely different form. But it's still Ironhide, no matter the shape. Phoenix nods his gratitude, then carefully pulls himself inside.

At which point it occurs to him how awkward this is, being inside the body of his friend.]

...whenever you are ready, Ironhide.

[Fortunately, Ironhide's used to transporting people. He doesn't think anything of it at all, or else this would be really awkward.

As soon as he's sure the wounded man is situated, he closes the door, and pulls away. They'll have to cram into the elevator somehow.]

Rolling.

[Awkward especially since Phoenix is bleeding all over Ironhide's seats.

Phoenix doesn't say much during the ride, both because he has little to say and because he knows he needs to conserve energy. His injuries may not be that bad, but still. Who knows when they might be attacked again?]

Can you fit inside the elevator in this form?

[Ironhide only minds fluid when it threatens to rust his joints. This is different - he's not fussy over his interior.]

I can try.

[And try he does. Paint gets scraped, a few dents knocked into his bumpers, but hey! They're inside.]

[Phoenix winces with each scrape, more than audible to his ears, but once they are inside the elevator and the doors have closed, he smiles, pleased.]

Perfect. Could you roll down one of your windows?

[Ironhide really doesn't notice the damage to his exterior. It's all superficial anyway.

In response, he just grunts, and rolls down the windows.]

[As soon as the window is down, Phoenix twists so that he can gingerly climb through the opening. He grimaces at the pull on his still-bleeding wounds, but ignores the pain. He's suffered through worse.

There isn't much room in the elevator with Ironhide crammed inside. Crawling onto Ironhide's hood, he sits down and runs the back of his sleeve across his forehead, catching the blood threatening to trickle into his eyes.]

When the door opens, I will remain here while you head out. Go fast, so that no one can tell that I am not inside. Make them think that you are trying to escape pursuit. I will get off on another deck and get some medical supplies.

[The truck can't really make facial expressions, but from how still Ironhide's holding himself, his concern should be somewhat apparent. He makes a displeased sound when Phoenix crawls onto his hood - he hadn't realized the leakage was quite so bad.]

I will drive as quickly as I am capable of. You will send a message when you are taken care of.

[His tone leaves no room for argument.]

[Phoenix nods, confident that Ironhide can see the gesture despite a lack of anything resembling eyes in this form.]

I will.

[He prepares to slide off the hood the moment the doors to the elevator open.]

Take care of yourself as well, Ironhide.

Yeah. Will do.

[He'll wait until Phoenix is out of the way before he trundles out of the elevators.]

[As soon as the doors slide shut again, Phoenix presses the button to take him the rest of the way to deck three.

Unfortunately, neither knew that he wouldn't be able to keep his promise. There would be no word from Phoenix.

Not anytime soon.]
