Uryuu wasn't sure of the exact time he was supposed to find Maria and show her the finer points of kite flying, but he figured if he spent enough time in the park she'd be easy to spot. He pushed up his glasses as he strolled out into the clear day, pleased to feel a nice breeze blowing. It would make kite flying much easier.

He wasn't quite sure why he had agreed to teach Maria in the first place. He wasn't exactly a people person, not to mention he hadn't flown a kite since he was child before his grandfather died. He'd stopped such things completely after the old man's death because nothing seemed right about being happy after your mentor had been murdered.

Maria was easy to spot once Uryuu arrived. He rubbed at his eyes before adjusting his glasses again and approaching the girl. "Maria-san? It's nice to see you in person." he said with a bow.

As he approached, she couldn't help but wonder - was this the person she was waiting for, or was this someone else who wanted to say hello? There had been others who had walked by, and each time she'd been curious if maybe they were Ishida, but each time they had kept on walking. This one, however, was definitely coming toward her. She smiled cheerfully as he walked up.

"Oh, are you Ishida-kun? It's wonderful to meet you, too!" Yes, this definitely had to be him. "I'm so glad you could make it. I can't wait to see how this works!"

Uryuu smiled at the girl's enthusiasm. It was refreshing to see someone who seemed to be happy around here as opposed to the usual whining and complaining he saw over the journals. Carefully he knelt next to her, making it easier to look her in the eye.

"I have to admit, I haven't done this since I was a kid. But it's not that difficult." Uryuu held his hands out palms up, "May I take a look at it?"

"Of course!" She handed the kite to him, being careful not to tangle the string and the streamers. "I'm sure that even if it's been that long, you'll be better at it than I am, so that's okay!" She giggled a little, ready to watch and learn.

"What was the kite you had like, when you were younger?" she asked, curious.
