Summary: Eriol knows what's wrong with Ying Fa and has had enough with waiting for Xiao Lang to do something about it.

The magician had had quite had enough. Since arriving in this, 'Neocontra', was it called now? Since arriving, Eriol had been able to feel both the growing presence of Sakura's magic and the waning of her physical presence. He'd been quite patient, if he did say so himself, waiting for Xiao Lang to pick up on what was wrong.
But he hadn't.
That angered Eriol to some extent. For Ying Fa, who had put her entire heart into loving him, and her entire life into protecting him, he had let her down.
He had had quite enough, indeed.
Eriol waited at the top of the stairs to the fourth floor, staff extended in his right hand. A simple spell, a call to Ying Fa's magic, to pull her consciousness to him. A simple spell, indeed. The magician's face was lined with determination.
He would make it better.
He would fix what Xiao Lang hadn't.
As much as Eriol loved his darling relative (as much as he loved all of them), Xiao Lang, in his eyes, had failed.
That was unforgivable.
