How fortunate for her, then, that someone who tended to be randomly friendly until he got to know people better was passing by, admiring the scenery. Morty walked right past the homunculus before registering her presence.

"Oh, hello," the blond trainer said when he realized someone was there.

Lust turned around, glancing over her shoulder first to see if he was, in fact, talking to her, rather than greeting somebody else. Once she was certain he was speaking to her, she took a couple of steps towards him, and stood in a relaxed stance.

"Hello," she said in reply. "Have you lived in this place long? I'm a new arrival."

Morty shrugged. "I suppose it depends on what you mean by 'this place'. This location specifically I haven't been in much longer than you probably have, but they brought me to this world from mine months ago." A frown passed over his face briefly. "Of course, they expect me to fight when they've left the only way I could fight back in my world."

The young blond's explanation at least made it seem as though it was common enough to pull people from their own worlds. That also explained why people were so vastly different looking here. Normally, a population was a little more...homogenous.

"That's unfortunate," said Lust. "How did you fight in your own world?"

...Was that Lust, over there?

Maes had been just standing there, leaning against one of the trees, looking vaguely up toward the sky. This city-like place they'd come to reminded him of Central in some ways. Which, of course, led from one thought to another... and eventually to his family. Ah, memory.

He almost did a double-take as he noticed Lust there though. He hadn't been expecting to see her there. Of course, he supposed, people could arrive in Econtra at just about any time, so...

He was, admittedly, still somewhat annoyed with her for what she'd done in the library that night. Stab wounds kind of hurt, regeneration or no. But she was easier to forgive than Envy. After all, had it only been the wound she had given him, maybe he wouldn't be forced to hide his existance from his family when he got home. And he was in a civil mood that day, so...

"Yo," he waved at Lust from where he stood. "Fancy meeting you here."

((OOC: Treating this as two separate threads in the park, just so that things don't get confused.))

Lust looked rather confused. She couldn't recall ever meeting this man before in her life. Admittedly, she had met quite a few people in her extended lifespan, but Lust wasn't prone to forgetting faces. Perhaps he knew her human self? She couldn't remember much, but she knew she still looked a lot like her former self. She knew she had spent time in Ishbal...but he didn't look Ishbalan.

"Hello," she greeted. "I would say the same to you, but I don't believe we've ever met."

...All right, that was unexpected. Sure, Maes hadn't exactly ever shown his physical form in front of the other homunculi way back whenever, but unless she somehow didn't remember that night...

"Huh." was his response as he took off his glasses and wiped them a bit on his shirt. "I distinctly remember that we had an encounter in the library one night, actually. But then, what with the various other universe stuff that seems to like to happen around here, maybe that didn't happen yet where you come from." After putting his glasses back in front of his eyes, he held out his hand in greeting. "Lieutenant Colonel Maes Hughes of the Amestris military."

Should he spill the beans about his other name? ...Naah, not right now. It wasn't really important that his little 'sister' know about that anyway.

Lust shook the offered hand.

"I don't remember ever seeing your face before, Lieutenant Colonel Hughes," she said. "Much less any sort of encounter in a library. I assume you already know my name, but I'll introduce myself anyhow for the sake of manners. My name is Lust. It's nice to meet you."

It was nice to meet anyone who was familiar with her world, or at least, a version of her world. "Amestris military" was the first familiar thing Lust had heard about since arriving here.

"Did you find it jarring, arriving in this place?" she inquired.
