Summary: While Kairi's away, Terra gets up to play. Xehanort happens to be right there.

The first thought that registered as the sedative began to wear off was something along the lines of 'ow'. It wasn't the most pleasant awakening Terra had ever experienced. The usual headache coupled with confusion was bad enough, but then he also had the pain in his left arm brought on by the cold temperatures outside. Still, it could have been worse: he could have been the young wielder who had suffered so much damage ( ... )

As Terra began to stir, Xehanort's eyes widened slightly in alarm. Kairi was still out, and while there wasn't a chance of life-threatening danger it still stood that Terra harbored a deep grudge against him and was confident enough in his abilities to issue threats. Meanwhile, all the fighting he and Kairi had been given an education had focused more strongly on academic debates and reasoning and less on combat.

And if Sora awoke and the two began trying to fight with each other again...well. Even if both of them were still exhausted from their previous encounter, moving the bodies when the cuffs activated again was something Xehanort hoped to avoid.

He tensed up upon hearing his name. Out of reflex, a response slipped out. "Yes?"

Terra didn't react to the question right away. He stood up slowly, reaching for the wall to keep from falling again. Almost casually his other hand worked to straighten out the twisted cape behind him. The sedative still drifting through his blood might have been to blame for his delayed reply, but it was also from lack of recognition. That one short word had sounded nothing like the voice of the aged Master he'd known. Halfway through his struggles with the cape, he realized what the response meant. As he turned around, his eyes focused- or tried to focus- on the pale haired man ( ... )

Xehanort relaxed for the time being. Terra barely looked ready to leave the building, let alone prepare for attack. In that matter, he was safe.

"Keeping away from her is something I can't promise even if I were to try," he replied. He'd had time to think over this; he already knew what to say about it. "There's only so many places one can go within the compound, and she does have friends she could and would enlist the aid of. Sora was just one of them." Despite himself a smile tugged at Xehanort's mouth as he thought of the manhunt that could ensue. He knew it had happened before in Econtra with varying degrees of success, but all success. "It would be a useless endeavor. Sooner or later, I would be found."
