[THREAD] Training

Where: North Commons
When: During the power switch stage of the endgame plot.
Summary: Tony and Quatre meet up to figure out what's different about their abilities... and to see if they can try to hone them up a little before the time comes when they need to use them.
Warnings: None I can think of at this time.

Tony didn't know much about magics and the mystical. He was a down-to-earth sort of creature, a man of knowledge and physics. In fact, he would go so far as to say that he hated magic. It just went against everything he'd ever studied and put so much effort into.

When he arrived he stopped on the outskirts of the area, gazing half-interestingly at Quatre. He could see the barrier quite clearly with his new "gift," but other than that didn't really know what the heck was going on.

Quatre opened his eyes, the moment of focus gone along with the barrier. His focused had picked up on another presence, but in a different way than he was used to from his empathy... which was now gone and that bothered him. He glanced over, not knowing who was there, as he hadn't learned how to recognize people with this new ability. He was a bit relieved to see it was Tony and not someone possibly intending harm. He gave the engineer/scientist a small smile and stood up, dusting himself off.

"Hello," he said.

Stark nodded in greeting as he approached lightly on his feet now that the boy was up. He glanced around at their settings a bit and, satisfied that they were alone and where no real damage could be meted out, he stopped in front of the pilot with a simple stare.

"Let's just get one thing straight: while exciting, this isn't exactly my cup of java." Brief pause. "So! Where do we start?"

Quatre nodded, his smile showing his agreement.

"It's not exactly mine, either," he said. "It's not something I'm used to. My empathy never really worked like this... and I certainly didn't need to start training it." Not that he hadn't since he'd been here, but he'd found it useful on occasion, and had wanted to expand that. However, that was curently a moot point.

"Well, what kind of powers do you have now?" Quatre asked. "I've found I can do several things that seem to be... ki-based?" He debated that for a moment, but found that was really the only explaination relating to how he'd been able to control them. He nodded.
