For the first time, Shadow noticed she'd left the -kun suffix off his name. Was that meaningful, or was it just that she was that acclimated to the English language now? He stood still, eyes searching her face for a moment, then decided it didn't really matter.

"Miss Honda," he greeted her coolly. "There are a few things we need to discuss." She looked nervous, which he thought a little strange, but perhaps he was reading her wrong.

It wasn't urgent, no, but it was good she'd come as soon as she had, anyway. It had stopped his pacing sooner than he probably would have on his own.

"First, you need to know what's going on with regard to the Warden," he said. "I've debated letting you in on this, but I've decided I trust you to keep quiet about it even if you disagree. Don't make me regret that decision." The hedgehog shot her a warning look, and took a few steps closer.

"Surely you've noticed that I've agreed to protect the Warden as he constructs his backup Consulo. It seems the most secure way of getting home, after all. However, he doesn't intend to use it for that purpose immediately. I intend to change his mind on that, regardless of what it takes." She wasn't stupid. She would know what he meant by that, surely.
