To say Aligoté was worried about a lot of people was an understatement. Almost everyone he spoke to regularly was either in the Alliance or directly affected by it, and that meant many of his friends were upset or being attacked. He had noticed the chilliness in the apartment suddenly between his other roommates, but had elected not to say anything. But when Maria had asked him to talk with her, he was more than happy to oblige.

There was a veritable thudercloud above her head as he approached. "Hey..."

The stoic leader front had snapped back in an instant. "Hey." Although deep inside she knew she really wasn't kidding anyone, and most especially not Aligoté. She pushed herself off the wall, nodding at him. "I appreciate this."

"Of course," he answered automatically, though he did mean it. "Been gettin' a bit frosty in there," he said, nodding towards the apartment door. "Don't blame you for wanting to get out of there for a while."

"You felt it, too?" Maria asked as they started walking, although she knew all that coldness was hard to miss. She and Relena were pretty good friends before the incident, but in the last few days they've both been very quiet and clearly avoiding each other. It was worse when it came to Wufei; the blue-haired girl made sure to just avoid him, or else she might end up doing something she'll later on regret.

When they'd reached outside, she said, "Fayt stepped down as our leader." The iciness of her tone was hard to miss was well.
