His sapphire-hued gaze was glued to the floor at this point, if only in hopes that Maria wouldn't notice the blush.
According to Aligote, last time this happened...people needed to kiss to break free from the mistletoe. Whomever's bright idea this was to put such enchantments around the compound was going to pay for this. That is, if he didn't pass out from the blood rush to his head first. He looked awkward, very awkward as he folded his arms across his chest. Funny how one could lean on thin air.
