A man who should have died nine months ago was seated in the snow-bound cemetery, back to a gravestone as he wrote into the standard Econtra-issue PDA. Rorschach had peeled away the skin on his face to assume the guise of Walter J. Kovacs, homeless prophet of doom. That label owed itself to the placard resting behind him, that carried the warning of THE END IS NIGHLips pursed. His usual meetings with Cougar and Jackdaw had ended early tonight, owing to business the former had to take care of. Something about an organized, if clandestine, effort to pull this compound together and see to the greater good. Much as he didn't get along with the ex-lawman, he wished him luck ( ... )

Sheifa was quick to realize that she wasn't alone, and had tried to noiselessly leave the man by himself. However, she didn't seem to have been quiet enough, because the other quickly backed off as she came towards his direction, even speaking to her.

She shook her head at his apology. "Sorry to have intruded, sir," she apologized instead, because it looked like that he was fine until she came along. She cast a glance at his placard and frowned; it wasn't an unusual warning, but it captured her attention nonetheless.

He waved his hands in a slightly jittery manner. "Oh no no, it's all right." he encouraged, sitting back down on a tombstone. "I don't mind. I doubt our neighbors right here do either." His hand rapped on the smooth cold surface of his chosen seat as he said that.

"Shouldn't you be in bed, miss? Econtra after hours isn't the safest time to be walking about."

Surprisingly - or perhaps not surprisingly? - Sheifa wasn't taken aback by the man's calm reference to the dead, or the fact that he was sitting on a tombstone. She seemed to be right at home, yet at the same time, she was completely out of place. She was a contradiction, a young woman unknowingly being pulled apart by both her past and her future.

And she wasn't about to admit that she didn't know why she was there, should this man turn out to be... hostile. "Just thinking, mostly," she answered, which was more or less true. "It's quiet here."

Yelan was just wandering around when she noticed a figure inside the cementery. And what a coincidence it was, it was Sheifa. Yelan smiled. Time is really by her side. Though at first she didn't noticed that she was going in this direction but it seemed it was meant to happen. And at that instant she made a decision. An opportunity like this is very rare, knowing what kind of friends this girl has.

After scanning the place, she was now sure that Sheifa was alone. And without doubts, she walked toward the girl who seemed to be confused at the moment. And what a wonderful addition it was to the situation. No friends, and especially no Albel around.

Sheifa didn't know what was happening, only that she felt a chill run down her spine.

"Who's there?" she called out, still keeping her back turned towards Yelan but ready to make a run for it. Something was telling her that this was bad, very bad...

"Hi there! Aren't you scared to be alone in this kind of place?" She said to Sheifa. "It's not safe for a girl like you to be all by yourself." Especially when a woman like her is just around the corner. No one can tell what might happen. But even though Sheifa seemed confused still Yelan did not put down even a single bit of her guard. This girl is pretty much unpredictable.

Sheifa relaxed a little. A woman. "I should be asking you that same question, ma'am," she said good-naturedly, turning around to greet the other - but stopping short as soon as she saw Yelan's face. It wasn't that they looked strikingly similar, but there was a resemblance nonetheless. And there was that certain 'feeling', too... something about being able to tell if one was related to you by blood.

"Do I know you?" the redhead hedged.
