Relena hadn't spent as much time as she should have with the people from her world that were here. She'd spent some time around Heero when she'd first arrived, but had developed somewhat of an independent nature back home that had come with her to this place. It wasn't that any of them made her feel smothered or suffocated in any way, it was that she realized how much she had relied on other people in her youth and was determined not to step back into those shoes. She didn't want to be the spoiled little Darlian girl that people at her school had seen her as or some princess in distress that forever relied on Heero Yuy to keep an eye out for her. Relena was perfectly capable of taking care of herself and she liked to think that her time in Econtra thus far had proved that ( ... )

"The older one," she said, knowing for sure that he was. He'd been at the initial meeting and had since been involved in all the communications that were exchanged between Alliance members over the comms. It was a good thing they were all good encryptors, for there were more than a few things they discussed that certain people did not need to catch wind of. "I'm not sure about the younger. He might very well be, but I don't want to confirm something I'm unclear on."

Duo nodded in understanding. "Knowing him, he probably is in some capacity, even if he hasn't made it to the meetings." [OOC: Because mun didn't have time when they started, but I'm sure my Q's involved, too... especially after his take-charge moment surrounding the kidnappings. XD] The American pilot chuckled. "I certainly wouldn't put it past him. He's done a lotta that kinda stuff at home... but you'd know that, right?" He wondered for a moment just how many meetings and summits Quatre and Relena had run into each other just because of their jobs.

Relena nodded as well. "Yes, he probably is. There are more than a few Alliance members I'm unfamiliar with an unaware of. We've more than likely just missed one another at gatherings. If the older Quatre's involved, surely the younger one is."

The Quatres were the only the only doubles that really made sense in her mind. There were distinct differences beyond hairstyles when it came to the Duos and the female WuFei was nothing like what she knew of the male. Some of the doubles seemed to only share looks and a name. Personality and nature, were another question. God knew that there were few similarities between herself and her own double.

She laughed a little as well. "Oh yes, we've run into one another at various meetings back home. The Winner Foundation's involved with a lot of the same things my office is."

"That seems to be the case with those two," Duo said. "They're probably the most alike out of the doubles from our world... and versions of it..." He chuckled a bit. Not that having two Quatre's was a bad thing, but it go a little odd sometimes.

His own double seemed a bit more like him after that memory wipe thing, which made him wonder a bit, but he wasn't going to press his luck. After all, he seemed almost... happier. Maybe it was a good thing.

"I didn't see the guys as much as I wanted..." Duo said quietly. "Granted, I ran into Q a few times since our businesses sort of crossed paths, and we generally tried to be around when we knew it was going to happen... but..." He shrugged. "It kinda sucked only seein'im for work."

Relena nodded. "I think all of us saw less of eachother once the war ended. We all were involved in different things and went our separate ways. Quatre was the one I saw the most, but I really didn't know the rest of you all that well."

Duo nodded. "Yeah..." He looked down for a moment. "It kinda sucked, to be honest. It was the closest I'd let myself be to anyone for a long time..." Of course, the fact that they had all, at some point, depended on each other for their lives might have had something to do with that. Well, at least, it was for Duo with the other pilots. Relena had always really been sort of a source of amusement to him at Heero's expense towards the beginning. But, that aside, he liked her. She was a good person.

For Relena, it hadn't been that bad. Out of the five pilots, it was Heero and Quatre that she'd been closest to and when it came to the former, she had no expectations when it came to ever seeing him again after the war. Him vanishing and not reappearing until the Mariemaia incident was no surprise to her. She supposed, though, for the pilots, who had bonded over the struggle they were at the center of, not being around one another anymore must have been hard.

"There's a lot of things about the war that I'd rather not remember," she admitted, mainly referring to how she was constantly being used as a puppet by various parties, "but meeting all of you is not one of them."

Duo gave Relena a soft smile. "Well, I'd hate to be one of the things you don't wanna remember," he teased lightly with a chuckle. He leaned on the table in thought. "It makes me wonder, though," he said. "Would we all have even met if it wasn't for the war...? And, if so, would we have been friends?"
