When: Late Afternoon
Summery: Al's making stone statues of her friends with her alchemy to relieve boredom and Judai shows up. Ling just happens to be very Ninja and manages to save Al.
Warnings: Violence.

In spite of the numbing cold that had spread its pale wings over the compound in the last few weeks, Judai was still wearing nothing more than his usual garb, shivering slightly as he walked through the compact snow, gloved hands stuffed in the pockets of his white trousers, as seemed to be the boy's usual habit ( ... )

Alice didn't even bother looking up as she finished the statue of Judai and Johan standing together. She recognized the voice of the other Judai, the one that she had roomed with before moving to Paj-Tria. She shook her head a bit, getting some of her hair out of her eyes as she started on another circle.

"Actually, working on detail like this helps keep my skills up. It takes concentration in order to do things like this." And talent, but she wasn't going to say that. She and her brother had been making figures like this when they were kids. It had taken them a lot of work and a lot of failed experiments in order to get it right.

Judai scoffed at her words... and yet, urged onwards by his natural curiosity -- one that not even a sundering of memories could have entirely erased -- took another few steps forward, glancing down at one of her figurines. The painstaking details within every little silhouette's contours were certainly apparent even to his untrained eye. He had paid very little attention to Daitokuji's class during the past year, deeming alchemy as little more than a dead art or a sordid pass-time for eccentric old crackpots, bent over steaming cauldrons, in search for the utterly unattainable.

However, even a mocker and a cynic such as himself had to admit that some of its uses were indeed interesting, judging by what he had seen the Elric girl do, in their previous encounters. Bending down a little in order to study a pair of tiny snow-figurines, the boy found himself glaring at the replicas, upon realizing who they depicted. Spurred by sheer instinct -- a visceral reaction that he would come to look at objectively only later -- Judai brought his ( ... )

"HEY!" Alice was annoyed. She had spent a good amount of time on the small figures and they were fragile. She had hoped to give them to her roommates as gifts when she had finished. She sat back on the ground, glaring up at Judai.
