Johan had his own set of worries that he wished that he could escape from. Which was almost laughable, for he had finally gone out because he wanted to feel better about what he had felt he was finally getting over, but crossing paths with a certain someone had magnificently compounded his problems and tested his poor nerves. In truth, much of the progress he had made was backtracked. At that point he was not even worried about having to tell Juudai sooner or later that he had been threatened by his crazy simulacrum. Not to mention that he had technically gone back on his promise. But he was not concerned about that at the moment ( ... )

Ned shrugged guiltily at all the pies. "I'm used to waking up every morning and baking for a hoard of hungry customers. Adjusting's been hard." Well, he could say that again. Ned balled up the towel he'd been using to wipe the counter and threw it into the sink with a drawn-out sigh of frustration. He wasn't sure that he was handling all this very well.

"How are you?" he asked in a false casual tone, hoping to forget his own troubles for a moment or two in conversation.

"So for you baking is like...an automatic suggestion or whatever they call it?" He was a bit taken by the displays of obvious frustration. It was definitely strange, seeing a man he had thought so genteel so wound up. He could tell that this place was really getting to the other, just like it was getting to him. Maybe it was all some sick game after all, designed just to test their limits...but he dismissed the thought at that. "Mmm, it is. This all isn't exactly something you can get use to. Even with the hikari no hadou, the Entropi still strike me as...troublesome. I imagine it's even harder when you're alone."

"Me...Uh, took a walk to go and get something I left at the church when I got here." He cringed, then started to unwrap his Duel Disk, but he stopped, realising that he would have to explain what exactly it was. To fill in the increasing silence he continued with "And I, uh, saw some people along the way? Didn't get hurt too badly, however."

"Hikari no what now?" the Piemaker asked, a look of confusion coming onto his face. He had led a rather sheltered life, before he came to econtra, and didn't know a single word of Japanese to save his life - or any other language for that matter. He had been forced to learn some Greek and Latin in school, but he'd forgotten it all as soon as the last tests were turned in. Ned was terrible with languages.

It was almost comical, how Ned's mouth became an O with understanding, as he realized what Johan meant. Not hurt too badly meant that he had been hurt some, and that was enough to set the nervous Piemaker worrying. In this situation, another kind of man might have sworn, but Ned's surprise was more decorous. "Oh!" he said, not seeming to know where to put his hands, "Do you need first aid? Bandaids? What happened?"
